Ice Cube has made the headlines a lot lately for things other than his music. His involvement in fighting for the rights of Black Americans has always been the underlying pulse of his mission, and it really kicked into high gear in the spring and summer of 2020 when the world was reeling at the death of George Floyd.

Ice Cube became the spokesperson for the Black Community and even crafted the Contract With  Black America to increase awareness and advocate for change. Everything from issues with police brutality to the ongoing concerns with systemic racism were his focus.

Hip hop artist through and through, Ice Cube has just revealed that he's releasing new music, but instead of being excited and looking forward to the new beats, what once was his fan base is now turning viciously against him.

His Music Is A "Hard - No" For Fans

Ice Cube took to Instagram to inform fans that he was dropping a new song on Friday, and surely he expected this to generate some interest and a whole lot of hype. After all, he hasn't shared anything new since 2018's Everythang's Corrupt.

However, if he was expecting fanfare and excitement at the promise of his new release, he was surely disappointed by the response to his news.

Fans were very, very quick to not only discredit his new release before it's even out, but to blatantly tell him that his new music was a "hard-no."

Fans have absolutely no interest in engaging with Ice Cube over new music. Apparently, his political stance in recent months has soured fans so much that his music has been canceled.

Political Warfare

Political Hip Hop has always been Ice Cube's focal point. This is nothing new, or surprising. However, he was so fixated on pushing the Contract With Black America, that he was willing to align with Donald Trump, if that meant getting his messaging across and implementing change.

That went too far. Fans draw the line abruptly at that point and have canceled Ice Cube as a result. Any sort of alignment with the Trump administration seems to be classified as Ice Cube 'selling out,' which means his music... won't.

Fans responded to his teaser for new music with comments such as; "Did you let Trump in on a feature?" and "That's a hard-no for me. Hard-no, Trump fan!" Other comments included; "try selling your music to MAGA, maybe they will buy your sh!t," and "hahaha, now you want us to believe in you again? sellout. Go ask Trump  for likes."
