Fans are slamming Lifetime's Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace in a big way, and are describing it by saying; "two hours of life wasted." They're slamming the program for overdramatizing the lives and 'struggles' of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and are raising the alarm about certain scenes that are being viewed as highly inappropriate and way too controversial.

Many of those who got a taste of Escaping The Palace are wishing they didn't, and are feeling that not only did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle betray the Royal family, but they completely disgraced the entire monarchy and have taken advantage of creative freedom to exploit moments that fans truly found to be offensive.

Overall, fans feel this is far too drama-focussed to be anywhere near an accurate depiction of the lives of Meghan Markle and Harry. They are afraid that some may truly take these scenes to be fact-based, thus leaving the public confused about what's real, and what's not.

Escaping The Drama

Fans want to escape the drama.

Many that have had a chance to watch this are careful to say that they are not trying to discredit any turmoil that Meghan and Harry went through, but they're finding it hard to get behind the overly dramatic representation of some of the moments that are highlighted in the film.

The exaggerated moments are not only hard to believe, but they're sending the wrong messaging to impressionable minds that may form opinions based on this loosely-factual presentation.

Perhaps even more troubling to fans was the fact that highly controversial moments were depicted that proved to be too much to handle.

Controversial Elements

The controversial elements in Escaping The Palace are too many to list. However, a few stand-out moments have been especially troubling to some viewers. Fans have been irked by a scene in which Sydney Morton is seen struggling under a car that is toppled over, and it is strangely similar to the fatal crash scene that took the life of Princess Diana. This was far too sensitive a comparison to many viewers that felt it was too much to bear and to significant a parallel to film in such a tone-deaf manner.

Another highly controversial element that was revealed is a heavily confrontational scene between Prince Harry and Prince William, in which both tempers flared over allegations of racism. Prince William bites back to say that the issue isn't race, but is rather the American Culture that sees Markle acting more like a celebrity than as a royal member.

Fans are sick of the drama and would much rather do without the perpetuation of more royal family controversy.
