New Yorker employees have gathered outside Anna Wintour’s New York City townhouse as part of a protest asking for better wages.

Wintour is the editor-in-chief of Vogue and has been appointed Condé Nast global ambassador content officer in 2020, which makes her one of the most well-known executives of the editorial giant also owning The New Yorker.

Protesters Target Anna Wintour Using ‘The Devil Wears Prada’

Protesters chanted some fairly catchy slogans outside the editor’s house on June 9. The chants hinted at Wintour inspiring the character of fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly on The Devil Wears Prada, played to perfection by Meryl Streep.

Wintour has been targeted by chants like “Bosses wear Prada, workers get nada”. The protest was documented by social media users, who shared their pictures from the scene.

“Anna Wintour’s neighbor hands out drinks to workers from The New Yorker, Pitchfork and Ars Technica who are picketing the Condé Nast bigwigs home as part of a protest for better wages,” The Daily Beast reporter Lachlan Cartwright shared on their Twitter, including a picture.

Social Media Users Detail Anna Wintour’s Love Of… Chicken Cutlets?

As protests for a pay rise are taking place in New York, fans are discussing Wintour’s attitude on social media.

Deuxmoi users reached out to the celebrity gossip page to sharing their impressions on Wintour.

One of the anonymous sources described Wintour as “kind” and detailing her being partial to chicken cutlets, adding a picture of her tucking into said dish.

“I met Anna Wintour a few times at the US Open and she was so kind!” the source told Deuxmoi.

“She was in our suite during a rain delay and had an Evian (asked for it to be poured into a wine glass) and then said she was famished and had a chicken cutlet,” they continued.

Another source seems to confirm the editor’s penchant for chicken cutlets.

“Can confirm that Anna Wintour is a freak for chicken cutlets. When I worked at [NYC French brasserie] Balthazar she would order the Chicken Paillard with NO DRESSING which is just plain grilled chicken on plain arugula. She would barely eat half,” they wrote.

“In my opinion she was never nice,” they added.
