This was certainly true in the case of Chris Harrison, who is now leaving the set of The Bachelorette with a disgraced image and a tainted reputation.
His February interview with Rachel Lindsay was the most damaging of his career, as Harrison defended the racist behavior of a previous contestant on The Bachelor, Rachael Kirkconnell. His overall stance on racism was then in question, and there was no healthy way to come back from this commentary. Chris Harrison was immediately canceled, and now he has accepted an 8-figure settlement as his going-away prize.
Fans Demand An End To The Show
As the familiar face and consistent, dependable host of the show, fans just can't imagine the program running in any capacity without Harrison.
In spite of his controversial exit, he was recognizably an integral component of the show, which fans now think should draw to a close for a variety of reasons.

Fans began stating they will stop watching the show, and the boycott comments included; " just not the same without him on the Bachelor. The same with dancing with the stars on Tom. ABC really messing up, I'm out too," as well as; "no need to watch then, I'm done."
Others wrote in to say; "ye!! That whole show needs to end as it sucks!! I know I won’t be watching anymore" "He was getting boring," and "Hopefully the show will be cancelled as well. Not the same without him 👎."
