Marvel Studios’ upcoming superhero movie Eternals has just released its first trailer, having fans excited at a Game of Thrones stars reunion they didn’t know they needed.

Directed and co-written by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Chloé Zhao, Eternals features an ensemble cast led by Gemma Chan in the role of Sersi. The star-studded cast also includes two actors from beloved fantasy show Game of Thrones, reuniting on screen after starring together in the first three seasons of the series. Fans of the HBO show have noticed that Eternals will fulfill a prophecy that Game of Thrones first started in 2011.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Stars Richard Madden And Kit Harington Reunite For Marvel’s ‘Eternals’

Eternals is based on the Marvel Comics immortal alien race of the same name. The film takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and focuses on the Eternals, powerful alien beings living on Earth among humans and reuniting to save the planet from their evil counterparts, the Deviants.

Alongside Gemma Chan, Eternals also stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, as well as Game of Thrones alumni, Kit Harington and Richard Madden.

“As a hardcore Game of Thrones fan, I have to say I'm hyped for #Eternals just to see Kit Harington and Richard Madden on the big screen,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“mini got reunion for me,” another commented.

Does ‘Eternals’ Fulfill This ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prophecy?

The two actors last shared the screen in 2011, when Madden’s Robb Stark told Harington’s Jon Snow they’ll see each other again when Jon will wear black, alluding to his half-brother’s vow to join the Night’s Watch.

In Eternals, Madden stars as Ikaris, leader of the immortal beings, whereas Harington plays human warrior Dane Whitman, also known as Black Knight.

Some fans have seen in the MCU characters played by Harington and Madden in Eternals the fulfilling of a prophecy that Game of Thrones made in 2011. Although Robb and Jon’s paths never cross again in the fantasy series, Eternals see the two reunite with Harington wearing all black as the Black Knight.

“In the Game of Thrones pilot, Richard Madden tells Kit Harington the next time they’ll see each other, he’ll be in black. While the pair never cross paths again, the prophecy has come true, as Harington’s stars alongside Madden as the Black Knight in #Eternals,” reads one tweet.
