This past week, Selena Gomez released a Spanish-language single titled, "De Una Vez," and fans believe it's the singer's way of saying farewell to her ex, Justin Bieber.

In English, "De Una Vez" translates to "At Once." In one verse, Gomez sings, "I'm cured of you, I told you already, I don't feel you here anymore, I don't feel you anymore, You never knew, you didn't know how to value me."

After listening to the song, several of Gomez's fans assumed that the singer was saying goodbye to her past, which includes her very public relationship with the "Yummy" singer, who she dated on and off from 2011 until 2018.

While Gomez did not share her inspiration behind the lyrics, she did tell fans on her Instagram that she was excited to start something new. "This is the beginning of something I've wanted to explore for so long. I hope you love it as much as I do," she said.

On Twitter, fans shared their thoughts on the song, and its connection to Bieber. Meanwhile, several of her other fans wanted people to stop believing every single song Gomez puts out is going to be about her former boyfriend.

Some Twitter users called Gomez fans "annoying." One wrote, "People, please stop making it seem like all of Selena Gomez's work is about Justin Bieber. If it is fine, but they're OVER PLEASE LET HER SHINE ON HER OWN."

While the song appears to be about getting over a difficult relationship, it's a known issue in the fanbase that many fans are unhealthily obsessed with their past relationship, which has been over for some time now.
