Starring Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and the legendary Danny DeVito, this show's outstanding cast is the reason why the stories in each episode feel fun and fresh. It's as if these actors were made for their characters, and it shows in their collective performance each week.
We've gotten 15 seasons of this amazing show, and thankfully, it has been renewed through season 18. There aren't many shows that can achieve this level of greatness, and the fact that this show has done show by using dark humor makes it even more impressive.
There are a number of things that people have come to love about this series, and it's flawed characters are near the top of the list. In fact, many believe that the characters are the best part of the show, which is truly saying something.
The Characters Make The Show
Unlike the vast majority of other shows, this series has no delusions when it comes to its characters. Simply put, all the characters on the show are extremely flawed, and they are all terrible in their own way. Because of this, the folks behind the scenes are able to tell interesting stories that focus on the group committing unspeakable acts.
Though they experience constant folly, the gang never quite learns or grows, but instead of hindering the series, it's become a bit of a hallmark.
Kaitlin Olson, who plays Dee on the show, commented on the group's inability to learn from their lesions.
"We want them to sort of never learn their lesson and grow and be better people," Olson said.
Again, these are deeply flawed characters, and fans think that one of them is the worst of the worst.
Fans Think That Dennis Is The Worst
So, who is the worst character on the show? Well, each character is pretty awful in their own way, but it sure seems like fans have a thing or two to say about Dennis Reynolds, AKA The Golden God.
"I'm going to say Dennis, based on him probably being a rapist, and at the very least being a violent and mentally unstable dude with a messiah complex. But Frank has probably done things to top all of that, so that's a hard call," one Reddit user wrote.
In the same thread, another user dished on why Dennis clearly stands out from the rest as the worst of the bunch.
"Dennis is the worst. All the other members have something that somewhat redeems them (Charlie's an idiot, but good hearted, Mac and Frank at least care about Charlie, Dee is not as idiotic and insane as the others) Dennis doesn't. It's even implied he's a serial killer, and might possibly be a rapist too," they wrote.
These are some strong words, and many fans tend to feel this way. As awful as Dennis is, however, another character who frequently popped up in this discussion is also quite the dirtbag.
"Going with Frank. While it's heavily implied that Dennis is a rapist, we don't really have any proof of that. Frank has straight up confessed to basically running a labor camp with horrible conditions where people would often die. Frank also said he would feed dead people to those still working. He's done a ton of other sketchy stuff to that's not immediately coming to mind," a user posted.
Dennis is the worst of the worst in the eyes of fans, but Frank is not far behind.
