The trailer for the hotly anticipated new Spider-Man: No Way Home has been released, leaving fans with so many questions about which past Spider-Man stars are returning for this new chapter.

Alongside Tom Holland, reprising his role as Peter Parker, the trailer confirmed it's time for a Spidey multiverse.

Past villains from the other Marvel movies about the superhero are due to make a spectacular comeback. Among them, Alfred Molina will definitely return as Doctor Octopus, first appeared in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 opposite Tobey Maguire. And it looks like Willem Dafoe will come back as Goblin, too.

While it isn't clear whether Maguire himself and The Amazing Spider-Man aka Andrew Garfield will don the blue and red suit once again, it's (almost) safe to say that one character will not make a surprise appearance: Harry Osborne, played by James Franco in the trilogy directed by Raimi.

Will James Franco Return For 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'?

Despite some fans could swear to have heard Franco's voice in the trailer for No Way Home, it is unlikely the 127 Hours star will return in this new installment.

The voice that some people think belongs to Franco is probably just that of Benedict Cumberbatch. The English actor pulls an American accent to play MCU character Doctor Strange. In the trailer, it seems it's him who warns Peter of the dangers of seeing his wishes fulfilled.

Some fans also agree with this and trolled Franco for not being part of this new movie over the sexual misconduct allegations made against him.

"New Spider-Man movie gonna being back everyone but James Franco. 'Harry who? I don’t remember a second goblin who flew on a snowboard,'" a fan wrote on Twitter.

Charlyne Yi Exposed James Franco And Seth Rogen

Earlier this year, House actor Charlyne Yi took to her Instagram to make accusations against Franco, calling him out for “preying on underage girls”. Yi also said that his former friend and collaborator Seth Rogen enabled Franco’s predatory behavior throughout the years.

Rogen has spoken out on the matter since, explaining he doesn't intend to work with Franco in the future. In February this year, Franco settled a sexual exploitation and defraudment lawsuit filed by two of his former female acting students. Both women dropped their individual claims. In June, it was revealed that the actor would pay more than $2.2 million to resolve the two different legal disputes.

"While Defendants continue to deny the allegations in the Complaint, they acknowledge that Plaintiffs have raised important issues; and all parties strongly believe that now is a critical time to focus on addressing the mistreatment of women in Hollywood," a joint statement from the plaintiffs and the defendant reads.
