Over the years, Emma Watson has developed quite a reputation. Not only is she a diverse actress, with more than just 'Harry Potter' under her belt, but she's also been outspoken about social issues. She's an all-around interesting celebrity and one that most fans don't really see as a celebrity at all.

Instead, they see her more like Hermione; relatable, a little bit awkward, and totally down to earth. But one fan who met her seems to think she's the exact opposite.

Emma Watson Attended The Glastonbury Festival

Though her former castmates seem to think she's amazing (Tom Felton said their relationship is something), not every fan who has met Emma has been thrilled afterward. In fact, one person who was working at the Glastonbury Festival one year claimed to have seen Emma Watson enter the venue, and not happily.

The story goes that in 2017 or so, one Redditor was volunteering at the Festival as the hospitality gatekeeper. It was a sweet gig, and it involved meeting a handful of somewhat lesser-known celebrities, perhaps those who weren't A-list enough to get a special access pass.

For example, the gate checker said they checked Olly Murs' ticket. To some fans, that would have been the highlight of the evening, to be fair. But after that, Emma Watson made an appearance.

What Is It Like To Meet Emma Watson?

While the Redditor's entire gig was checking tickets and greeting people at the gate, Emma Watson's arrival was preceded by a specific instruction not to check her (or her companion's) ticket. This came after the gatekeeper's supervisor's thirty-minute absence, they noted, which apparently involved a behind-the-scenes scuffle.

Not a physical scuffle, however, but a verbal one; the supervisor relayed that Emma Watson and her apparent boyfriend were unhappy that they had to proceed through the hospitality gate rather than getting special treatment.

The ticket-checker noted that "both of them utterly ignored me and stormed on in," and it turns out that prior to their entry, they were very unhappy about having to check in where average folks did. The storyteller noted that "They'd been furious that they had to have tickets checked like the plebs and been utterly horrible to our supervisor when she'd been called away."

Is Emma Watson Really Awful In Person?

Some fans tried to reason away Emma's apparently awful behavior by suggesting that maybe she was having a bad day, or possibly that she was angry with her boyfriend (not her current 'secret' boyfriend, but one from four years ago).

The original poster, however, suggested that "wasn't the impression [the] supervisor got." Rather, Emma's "anger was directed at [the supervisor] not the boy." Either way, the OP noted, there was no excuse for Emma or her guest to be angry with the staff at the event.

Which led some people to speculate about why Emma was using a ticketed entrance anyway. The OP pointed out that "bands, guests and most others were driven onto site straight into back stage."

That fact had folks wondering whether Emma just isn't famous enough to "get an invite to the proper celebrity bit." After being recognized for portraying Hermione, above all her other roles, for so long, perhaps Emma Watson was hoping for a bit more of a red carpet rolled out for the Glastonbury Festival.

While the OP semi-joked that Watson didn't want to "have tickets checked like the plebs," one respondent suggested, "When the red carpet is rolled out for you enough times, what began as gratitude quickly devolves into expectation."

What Did Fans Think Of Emma Watson's Behavior?

Overall, fans were disappointed yet not entirely shocked by Emma's reported behavior. The thing is, she may very well have been having an off day. Yet this encounter is one that the fan who met her won't ever forget, and most celebrities realize that even one 'off' fan meeting can make big waves in their career.

Not to mention, plenty of people have negative stories to tell about Emma Watson being rude, including on the set of the 'Harry Potter' films. Here's hoping she's not really like that these days, in real life.

Because admittedly, a few years have passed since the Glastonbury event, and a lot more years have gone by since 'Harry Potter.' Fans, however, seem mostly OK with letting that one day of bad behavior slide when it comes to Emma Watson. Not that it would impact the celebrity a bit either way!

People are still obsessed with her, and waiting for her to announce what's next for her career, since it turns out the rumors about her leaving acting behind were just that.
