20 Fast And Furious Actors Who Will Never Return To The Franchise

The Fast and Furious franchise has become one of the most successful movie series of all time, thanks to its high-octane action sequences, crazy car chases, and stunts and the unlikely bromances between many of its leading characters.

The series started with the 2001 film The Fast and the Furious and has so far reached movie number eight – The Fate of the Furious – in 2017, though there are already two more films planned for 2020 and 2021 as well as a spin-off movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham as Hobbs and Shaw.

No one actor has appeared in all the movies, though Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto has come closest. He has appeared in every movie apart from 2 Fast 2 Furious, though he only made a short cameo at the end of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

19 Bow Wow

For many of the actors in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift this film was their only outing in the franchise, as it followed a new set of characters in a new location. Before she was cast as Wonder Woman, Israeli actress, and supermodel Gal Gadot got her first big film role in the Fast and Furious franchise as Gisele Yashar, a hard-driving member of Dom Toretto’s crew who also enjoyed a romantic relationship with Han. 15 Nathalie Emmanuel

While many people may recognize English actress Nathalie Emmanuel from her role as Missandei on Game of Thrones to fans of the Fast and Furious franchise she will always be Ramsey, the computer hacker who developed a program which could track individuals digitally, and which was always falling into the hands of the bad guys.

14 Lucas Black

Lucas Black was the star of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, playing Sean Boswell, a young American who finds himself getting involved in the exciting world of Japanese street racing. 13 Sung Kang

The most successful character in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift was Han Lue, played by Korean-American actor Sung Kang. Although Han died at the end of Tokyo Drift, writers messed around with the timeline of the franchise just to bring him back for the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh films in the series – with his original death featuring as archive footage in Furious 7.

12 Devon Aoki

Party girl Suki, played by American actress and model Devon Aoki, only appeared in the second film in the franchise, 2 Fast 2 Furious. Far from being just a pretty face, Suki is an accomplished street racer in her own right and is the girlfriend of Fast and Furious regular Tej Parker (Ludacris) in the movie.

11 Luke Evans

British actor Luke Evans played the main bad guy in Fast & Furious 6, a former paramilitary turned criminal mastermind called Owen Shaw. The Fast and Furious franchise gave Hollywood star Eva Mendes one of her first starring roles when she played US Customs Agent Monica Fuentes in 2 Fast 2 Furious. Chad Lindberg provided some much-needed comic relief through parts of the first Fast and Furious movie as the mechanical genius behind Dom’s cars. However, when he loses his car in a race against local gangster Johnny Tran, and then races off rather than handing over the vehicle, Tran has his men shoot Jesse in revenge.

8 Charlize Theron

Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron was perhaps a strange choice to play the cyber Cipher in The Fate of the Furious – although it is later revealed that she was also the mastermind behind the plots against Dom and his crew in the sixth and seventh movies, working through Owen Shaw and Mose Jakande.

7 Matt Schulze

Matt Schulze played Vince, another member of Dominic Toretto’s original gang from The Fast and the Furious. 5 Kurt Russell

The Fast and Furious franchise isn’t known for its subtlety, which goes a long way towards explaining why the writers named the mysterious head of a covert government agency “Mr. Nobody”. This unnamed character was played by Hollywood legend Kurt Russell in Furious 7 and The Fate of the Furious as the team chase down Mose Jakande and then Cipher.

4 Scott Eastwood

As if the name “Mr. Nobody” wasn’t bad enough, by the time The Fate of the Furious came around, Kurt Russell had got himself a sidekick, called “Little Nobody” and played by American actor Scott Eastwood, son of Hollywood star Clint. Little Nobody does at least have a real name in the movie – Eric Reisner – unlike his mysterious boss.

3 Ja Rule

Several rap stars have made their big screen debuts in Fast and Furious movies, including Ludacris who has become an integral part of the cast. Ja Rule, on the other hand, only appeared in the first movie as Edwin, one of the street racers who competes in the quarter-mile street race against Brian Conner and Dominic Toretto.

2 Tego Calderon

Latin music stars have also secured roles in the Fast and Furious movies, with Tego Calderon and his fellow Reggaetron star Don Omar forming something of a double-act in Fast & Furious and Fast Five. The two are last seen in a casino in Monte Carlo, although the two are seen briefly in The Fate of the Furious on the ambulance taking an injured Deckard Shaw to hospital.

1 Mirtha Michelle

Although Han ends up in a romance with Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot) when he first returns to the franchise in Fast & Furious, his girlfriend is Cara, another member of Dom’s crew played by Mirtha Michelle. The part of Cara was Michelle’s only significant Hollywood role, but at least she lost her man to Wonder Woman and not just any girl!
