Even though the movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' came out in 1986, kids today still know who Ferris is and why the movie was iconic. Still, it seems almost unbelievable that the stars from the movie could still be hanging out in Hollywood today.

From Matthew Broderick, who played Ferris himself, to Charlie Sheen as "boy in police station" (he really was credited as such on IMDb), the cast was star-studded. Of course, having Jennifer Grey didn't hurt, either.

Anyway, looking back on Charlie Sheen's early acting resume is one of his fans' few remaining pleasures. After multiple relationships of his combusted, and 'Two & a Half Men' dropped off, and even his twin sons hadn't been heard from in years, Charlie Sheen has really fallen out of favor on screen.

In fact, many fans (or perhaps critics) think that Hollywood has canceled Charlie Sheen. According to naysayers, Charlie headed downhill a long time ago, probably closer to the time he was on 'Ferris Bueller' than to recent days.

But although Charlie has admitted to partying hard in his heyday, sources say that he wasn't actually drunk on the set of 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off." However, he did manage to look very much the part (and get Jennifer Grey giggling).

How'd he do it? Did Charlie actually get drunk (or under the influence of something else) while on set?

Nope, says TV Over MindFans agree that Charlie's story adds up: he didn't sleep for more than two days to get appropriately hammered looking for the scene. If that's not dedication, we don't know what is.

Apparently, Charlie skipped sleep so he could look super rough and pull off acting 'drunk' on that couch with Jennifer Grey. She found his sleepiness hilarious, says TV Over Mind, though the actress wasn't one to keep a straight face throughout the movie's shenanigans anyway.

But isn't it a relief to know that Charlie really was acting the whole time, and wasn't already on his way toward the difficult path that later became his life?

Back then, Charlie was just a guy trying to play a role and do it well. He sure has changed a lot, and not exactly in good ways.

But despite Hollywood's apparent beef with Charlie, they still sought him out to comment on his ex Denise Richards' departure from 'RHOBH.' Even if he's on the outs with a lot of former co-stars, Denise still seems to value Charlie's opinion, given his showbiz expertise, and the two seem to finally be on good terms.

Maybe the future is a bit brighter for Charlie than his past after all.
