Billie Eilish's Grammy-winning producer and brother Finneas O'Connell is releasing his debut album Optimist, which will be out on October 15. On August 5, the 24-year-old musician shared the first single from his album titled A Concert Six Months From Now, along with a music video filmed at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl.

Finneas has been writing, producing, and acting for over a decade, and is the mastermind behind most of his sister, Billie Eilish's music. Yet, Eilish's fans are of the belief that Finneas is taking advantage of his sister's fame to sell his own album.

Fans Think Finneas Is Using Billie

The singer-songwriter and producer has closely worked with his younger sister Billie Eilish throughout her rise into the spotlight. Finneas has been credited for co-writing and producing many of Billie's songs, and the siblings regularly promote their music together.

In fact, Billie was discovered thanks to the song Ocean Eyes, which was written by Finneas. Some fans are still concerned about the producer using his sister's fame to his advantage.

"he's taking advantage of his famous sister," a Twitter user wrote in response to Finneas' album announcement.

"I feel bad bc it's going to tank so hard," shared another.

"He is a genius producer and songwriter and also real male vocalist which is something rare to find this days, so u better wash ur mouth bcs he's not playing," a fan wrote in his defense.

"Piggybacking of his flop sister belly eyelash," wrote another, trolling both O'Connell and his sister.

"we will only listen to billie," said a user.

Some fans were concerned if Billie had fired her brother, which could explain why he was releasing his own album. Finneas has written and produced music for top artists like Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, and Halsey among others — and has been creating his own music for a while now.

Optimist will be his first personal album, but Finneas has previously released several singles as a solo artist. His debut EP titled Blood Harmony was released in October 2019.

Optimist, a thirteen-track album will be released via Interscope on October 15. Hopefully, there's another exciting Billie and Finneas collaboration on it!
