Republican pundit DeAnna Lorraine tweeted: "America needs far more women like Melania Trump and far less like Cardi B."
The 27-year-old rapper replied by sharing a topless picture of the First Lady.
"Didn't she used to sell that Wap," Cardi captioned the picture with a reference to her hit single, "Wet-A** P***y."
"This pic giving me "yea you f***in wit some wet a** p***y" vibes ...just sayin."
It got social media talking about the Slovenian born's former job as an international model.
Before the White House, Melanija Knavs, stripped down to model for several shoots for magazines like GQ and Max.
The future First Lady was modeled under the name "Melania K."
The New York Post were the first to reveal the naked shoot by photographer Jarl Alé Alexandre de Basseville.
The saucy snaps were reportedly taken in 1996 for the now defunct French publication Maz Magazine.
One particularly eye-popping photo sees Melania baring her boobs while protecting her modesty with her hands.
According to Alé de Basseville, the pictures were supposed to celebrate the now 50-year-old's "beauty."
“Melania was super-great and a fantastic personality and she was very kind with me,” de Basseville told The Post.
A selection of other racy images from the shoot show Melania lying naked in bed with Scandinavian model Emma Eriksson.
Far from being embarrassed, Donald Trump couldn't be prouder of his wife's sexy model past.
Mr Trump said: "Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines."
"This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common."
However, Melania did pose completely naked again in 2001 for the cover of British GQ magazine. Back then she was then the girlfriend of the billionaire.
The provocative shoot saw Melania handcuffed to a briefcase while laying naked on a fur blanket.
It took place on Trump's customised Boeing 727, while she shows off her diamond encrusted chocker and matching cuffs.
