This happens a lot in the powerful world of social media, when a certain celeb starts to come under fire for a post or something going on, they’ll wisely deactivate IG comments. This might be a way to soften the blow and minimize the hate.

We recently saw a similar situation in the world of reality television when ‘Jersey Shore’ star Angelina Pivarnick came under fire for posting a fake pregnancy, all just to get some clicks. Fans were none too pleased and it would lead to Angelina deactivating comments, given all the hate that was coming in.

We might be able to add Floyd Mayweather to the list. On his last four posts, Mayweather turned off comments. Two of them were on homage to Floyd’s late ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris. So it made sense that he would turn off comments for such a post.

However, his two recent posts were a little more controversial and fans think he had no choice but to turn off comments given all the hate coming his way.

A Shot At Conor And His Marital Status

It started with a bizarre post as Floyd let the world know that he was never engaged or married.

Mayweather took things even further following Conor McGregor’s UFC defeat. He made some bold statements, calling the UFC star a thief and stating that racism still exists in the world. It was a lengthy post and once again, comments were all turned off. Here’s what Floyd had to say, “I seen this post and my take on it is that the world knows Con Artist McLoser can steal everything from me and be loved but I’m hated. That just lets you all know that racism still exists. Just know, that bum will never be me or be on my level. I’m just built different, my mindset is on another planet, my skills are second to none, I’m a natural-born winner and yes I talk a lot of trash, but every time I back it up! This is what they hate. It’s sad that you can be a poor black kid from the ghetto that has dealt with racism your whole life and work extremely hard to put yourself and your family in a better position, and most of the hate comes from my own people.”

A bold statement indeed. Some fans are making mention that it was all done given that Conor called Floyd fat during a recent interview. Who really knows what’s going on.
