Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar were every '90s kid's favorite couple. Unlike modern celeb couples, these two didn't publicly feud, throw around divorce threats, or have many rumors started about the fate of their marriage.

Plus, the two of them were in some blockbuster films for their time.

But these '90s stars haven't gone quietly into the night. They're still active in Hollywood, with Sarah Michelle Gellar, for one, continuing to reminisce about her past as Buffy.

Even the couple's daughter is already a star in her own right, building her net worth even though she's not even a tween.

As for the couple's impressively long marriage (especially by Hollywood standards), it didn't start out like most celebrity meetings.

In fact, as Today recapped, Sarah Michelle and Freddie weren't even supposed to go on a first date; it only turned into one.

The pair met on the set of 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' in 1997, but they didn't become a couple right away. They were just friends for about three years. In 2001, they became engaged, and in 2002 they were married in a destination wedding in Mexico.

The couple is now in their forties and have two kids together, and by all accounts, fans can expect the pair to have a happily ever after.

And to top it all off, they have an adorable story to share about their dating timeline.

On her Instagram, Sarah Michelle reminisced about how she and Freddie had been friends for a while, and they were meant to meet with a third friend for dinner. But their shared friend missed her flight into town, so Freddie and Sarah Michelle got together for a meal anyway.

So in fact, the couple didn't wait at all to start dating: they had their first impromptu date and have been together ever since.

In terms of their Hollywood trajectories, though, the happily married couple took decidedly different paths. Freddie, for example, has had a few on-screen roles in recent years, but he's actually worked more on voice acting (one role was for the animated 'Star Wars Rebels' series).

Fans speculate that a feud with Kiefer Sutherland caused Freddie Prinze Jr. to quit acting, but if that's the case, he has since rekindled his passion for creative projects. He's set to have a lead role on 'Punky Brewster,' coming sometime this year.

Sarah Michelle, meanwhile, played Buffy for six years, and she hasn't seemed to take a year off since. From guest starring on 'The Big Bang Theory' to voicing a 'Star Wars Rebels' character alongside her hubby, the actress seems far more willing to be in the spotlight.
