Twitter users are coming for G-Eazy following his recent arrest.

Rapper Gerald Earl Gillum, otherwise known as G-Eazy, has been arrested following an “alleged assault” in New York City. The supposed brawl took place September 10, outside the Boom Boom Room at The Standard Hotel, according to the NYPD.

G-Eazy and friends are said to have punched a 32-year-old male and a 29-year-old male.

Two days later, the rapper made an appearance at the 2021 VMA’s, September 12. He showed up to the event in a monochromatic green turtleneck and suit jacket, paired with black trousers and boots. The No Limit rapper showed no physical signs of having been in a fight, as he posed on the red carpet.

Following the MTV show, G-Eazy was taken into custody on Monday 13 September, due to his alleged connection to the confrontation. He was given a desk appearance ticket and is "set to appear before a judge" in the near future.

As the news broke out on G-Eazy’s arrest, several people took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter. Many used the arrest as an opportunity to troll the rapper and the situation he had found himself in.

Whilst many branded him “Cheesy- G”, others emphasized his lack of “edge” as they trolled both G-Eazy and the assault victims. One critic wrote, “Imagine getting assaulted by ‘G-Eazy’ :’)”.

Whilst another added, “how you let a man named Gerald assault you.”

Other people focused on his music and career. They roasted G-Eazy as they claimed the rapper “fell off” the rap game a long time ago.
