George Clooney is probably one of the last of Hollywood's genuine leading men, and he's proving that he's more than a pretty face. The suave actor is involved in some extremely lucrative business dealings, he is recognized for his humanitarian efforts, and he is a busy family man.

With his wife, Amal, by his side, Clooney is half of one of the most influential power couples to ever rule Hollywood. Whether he's keeping an eye on international human rights or directing a multitude of projects, Clooney is no slouch and he's got the awards (and finances) to prove it.

Let's check out some of the things the debonair superstar has been up to recently.

15 Nespresso Controversy

George Clooney has been the face of Nespresso since 2006, but he's also on the sustainability advisory board. When an investigation was released detailing possible child labor law violations, he was pretty upset with the company. KTLA reported that Clooney condemned the company and said that, "Clearly this board and company still have work to do. And that work will be done."

14 His Film Is Getting Adapted For The Stage

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Clooney's 2005 black and white masterpiece, Good Night, and Good Luck is heading to the stage in Chicago. The Steppenwolf Theatre Company will put on a run of the show later this year. Clooney famously acted in and directed the film, so we'll see if he will have any say in this year's production.

13 He Founded A Nonprofit

The Clooney Foundation For Justice was established in 2016. Unsurprisingly, Amal and George Clooney co-founded the organization and have an impressive roster of partners including, Google, Unicef, and Microsoft. Their mission? According to their website, it "advocates for justice and accountability for human rights abuses around the world."

12 He Is Launching An App

Last year, The Clooney Foundation For Justice announced that it was going to partner with Microsoft to launch an app aimed at keeping tabs on proceedings around the world, to make sure there are no human rights violations. TrialWatch will also include help from Columbia Law School, the American Bar Association, and The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

11 His Charity Won A Humanitarian Award

George and Amal jetted across the pond to Scotland to receive a humanitarian award for all of the good works their organization has been doing. Scotland's First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, reportedly handed the couple their Postcode Hero Awards, along with a donation of £1 million from the People's Postcode Lottery. This money was earmarked for The Clooney Foundation for Justice.

10 He Finished A Movie For Netflix

Clooney will be featured in a Netflix exclusive picture. Filming has just wrapped for "The Midnight Sky," a post-apocalyptic sci-fi movie which Clooney directs and stars in. Indiewire reports that the film should debut on the streaming site in late 2020.

9 He Might Own A Soccer Team

Apparently, Clooney is part of an American group of investors who are bidding to take over the Malaga CF (Club de Fútbol), according to the Daily Mail. The consortium has apparently put in an offer of about $40 million to acquire the team. Once approved, they also plan on shooting a documentary centering around the team.

8 He Sold His Tequila Company

Back when he founded Casamigos with two of his friends in 2013, he had no idea that four years later, his tequila company would be worth a billion dollars, but that's exactly how much it was sold for in 2017. The New York Times reported that Casamigos was sold to spirits mega-retailer, Diego, for a staggering $1 billion, which is a nice lead-in to the next entry...

7 He Was The Highest-Paid Actor In 2018

Even though he didn't have any new projects in the works during 2018, Clooney still topped the Forbes list, according to Vanity Fair. The reason? The pre-mentioned sale of his tequila company, Casamigos. That sale alone saw Clooney gain $239 million, which is bigger money than any other actor on the list received.

6 He's Renovating His House

Lately, Clooney has made his home in England, since his wife's family all live there. Plus, George and Amal's two children were born there. Now, photos have been shared with the Daily Mail, showing construction happening on Clooney's Studio City mansion in L.A. There's speculation that he is building a new compound for live-in help for the children, which will cost about $1.1 million.

5 He May Run For Office

Clooney's sudden return to his Studio City dwelling has some people speculating that there is more to the move than a simple change of scenery. One of Clooney's neighbors thinks that he's getting ready to run for office in California. It's not really surprising since he's been very political in the past, hosting fundraisers for the likes of President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

4 He Returned To Television

Clooney had a small role in Hulu's reimagining of Catch-22, marking his return to television, 11 years after his stint on the super-popular drama, ER. He also executive produced the show...and directed a couple of the episodes for good measure.

In an interview with Variety about the show, Hulu's head of original series, Craig Erich, said of Clooney, "George Clooney is certainly a top talent. So this was an incredible opportunity to do business with somebody you'd want to do business with."

3 He's Directing Yet Another Movie

Shortly after wrapping his Netflix movie, he signed on to a new project. According to The Observer, he will direct The Boys in the Boat, a film detailing the story of an American rowing team in the 1930s as they strive for Olympic gold. The film will be based on Daniel James Brown's novel, The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

2 He Dines With Royalty

Although he is currently moving back stateside, while he was living in his home in Sonning, Berkshire, he and Amal frequently hosted Harry and Meghan. The couples have apparently been friends for a while now.

He said in an interview with The Daily Mail, "We live not too far from one another and we have dinners and stuff and we're friends with them for all of the reasons that you're friends with anybody."
