You Can Get Paid $100 An Hour To Pet Puppies At This Dog-Friendly Restaurant In Texas

Calling all unemployed pup-lovers-- a Texas company is looking for a ‘puptern’, and no, we are not recapping a Paw Patrol or Puppy Dog Pal episode.

MUTT’s Canine Cantina, a dog-friendly restaurant, bar and dog park posted to their Instagram that they are seeking their first-ever "MUTTS Puptern" at its second location opening in Fort Worth. MUTT’s Canine Cantina is paradise for humans and their four-legged best friends, offering fun 'pawtys' such as ‘Yappy Hour.’

It may sound too good to be true, but the job is legitimate, according to ABC News. The owner, Kyle Noonan told the network it's like a maitre d' but for dogs and that he "wants the dogs to get to know the person so that their tail is wagging every time they see their host and friend."

Each day, the restaurant and park gets dozens of visitors-- human and canine. While humans can sign up for a membership, which gives their pup access to the large dog park outside, dogs can run off-leash with others or play fetch. The puptern would be on-hand for some added fun for the dogs. The Dallas location also offers a dog agility course.

As MUTTS’ Fort Worth, Texas, location is close to Texas Christian University, management initially thought the job would be a great way to engage with college students.

“[We] wanted to introduce them to MUTTS concept and have a great time while doing so, and because of this, the idea of the puptern internship was born,” Kyle Noonan, co-founder of MUTTS, told The Dodo. “In this role, the puptern will greet MUTTS members with a friendly face, while offering to play and pet with their dogs — that's it.”

To apply for the gig, which pays $100 per hour, the company is asking Instagram users to share photos or videos of themselves showing off their very best puppy petting skills with the hashtag #MUTTSpuptern. Applicants don’t have to be a college student but must be 18 years or older.

Since the job opening has been posted, more than 300 potential pupterns have sent in shots of themselves snuggling puppies, and receiving adorable canine kisses. Submissions have unfortunately closed, but now the MUTTS Fort Worth team will begin narrowing down the candidates. Good luck to all applicants out there!
