Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted is one of the shows coming to Disney Plus, and the internet has had an absolute field day with the news.

The fact that the foul-mouthed celebrity chef's new show has a similar-sounding name to a very popular video game is what sparked the online jokes. Nathan Drake is one of the most popular characters in gaming but he’s not exactly the first thing you think of when you hear the name of world-famous chef ‘Gordon Ramsay.’

When the formal announcement of Sony’s Uncharted movie finally landed a few months back, instead of excitement for a silver-screen adaptation of one of the best action-adventure franchises in recent memory, social media was fiercely divided over Nathan Drake’s casting. Tom Holland, the baby-faced 23-year-old Londoner best known for his five-film role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was finally confirmed as the story’s main hero.

Now, the video game is back in the news but this time in a funny way, according to Gamebyte. Hundreds of people flocked to Twitter to make the same joke: that the upcoming Uncharted movie had replaced Tom Holland with Gordon Ramsay as Nathan Drake.

One user joked: “is this a Gordon Ramsay show or an Uncharted show starring Gordon Ramsay?”

Another questioned why the celebrity chef has snagged the role of the globe-trotting explorer. Social media is full of such jokes about Ramsay’s show.

GameByte asked Nathan Drake’s video game actor, Nolan North during MCM ComicCon Scotland this year, about a rumour that Bryan Cranston is being eyed to play potty-mouthed Sullivan. North said that Bryan Cranston would be a fantastic Sully. He added: "I know, I’ve said this before, I think the direction they want to take is Drake in his 20s. And they’ll take some artistic license, and I love it, because don’t try and mimic what the games did.”

Travis Knight, who directed Bumblebee, is now in talks with Sony to direct the Uncharted movie. As for the shouty chef's show “Gordan Ramsay: Uncharted”, it differs from the chef’s other television projects and showcases how the locales Ramsay visits on the show are physically taxing to explore.
