Halsey got candid about her vision problems revealing she has been wearing glasses since she was six.

The Bad At Love singer, known for being outspoken about her own struggles with bipolar disorder, has now shared with fans a snap of herself wearing glasses that appear to be quite thick. She is also sporting darker, short hair after having appeared in a hot pink, long wavy do in a recent performance.

Halsey Has Been Wearing Glasses Since She Was Six

She revealed her vision without glasses is 20/800 and that her contact lenses are her most prized possession when she’s on tour. The openly bisexual singer explained she wouldn’t make it “two feet onto the stage” on tour without her lenses, adding a falling emoji for good measure.

Halsey’s revelation prompted more questions from her fans. One asked if the artist is actually able to spot people in the crowd at her gigs.

The singer assured them her vision is almost completely corrected with lenses, so she can make eye contact during her gigs. To give her followers a sense of how bad her vision without glasses or contacts is, Halsey said she isn’t able to see her own reflection in the mirror as she brushes her teeth.

In a since-deleted tweet, someone hinted at the fact that Halsey might be legally blind having a 20/800 vision. The singer then explained that legal blindness is based on what a person’s vision is with correction, but her vision with glasses or contacts is almost 20/20.

Halsey Has A Poetry Book Out On 2020

Halsey posted the same snap of herself in glasses on Instagram, where one of her friends hinted at the panicky moments when she lost a contact in the pool during a girls trip in Miami.

“Honestly, the scariest moment,” Halsey wrote.

“I legit bring MAD extra pairs everywhere I go now because of that.”

2020 has been a fruitful year for Halsey. She released her latest album Manic in January and has just partnered with Magnum to promote their new True To Pleasure campaign.

The New Jersey-born singer also has a poetry book out soon where she will address her own experiences as a bisexual, biracial woman, as well as her bipolar disorder. She was diagnosed at 17 after attempting to take her own life and has since used her career to be an advocate for mental health. The collection of poems, titled I Would Leave Me If I Could, is available to preorder.
