Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s dispute with the royal family has been highly publicized in the press. But it appears the couple is also at odds with another famous family – the Beckhams.

In his new book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, royal expert Tom Bower explains Harry and Meghan were obsessed with reading tabloid articles about them following their engagement in 2017.

Eventually, Bower says the couple became convinced someone in their inner circle was leaking their information to the press.

Harry Confronted David, And Now The Families Are At Odds

Every night [Harry and Meghan] scoured the internet to read the newspaper reports and the trolls’ postings on social media,” Bower writes.

“Irrationally, they grouped the two together and fed each other’s frenzy about the media,” he continues. “Convinced that as champions of goodness they were being persecuted by mendacity and racism, they felt victimized by the mildest criticism.”

Bower then alleges that Meghan “suspected Victoria Beckham of indiscretion.” This may seem surprising, considering the two families have historically been on good terms. The Beckhams even attended Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding. However, Meghan’s suspicions led Harry to call David to confront him over their suspicions.

This appears to have led to a rupture in the two families’ friendships. Bower – who implies the Beckhams didn’t leak stories to the press – explains, “Outraged, Beckham’s truthful denials damaged their relationship.”

Bower’s Biography Makes Many Startling Claims About Harry & Meghan

Bower’s biography has been making waves since it was announced. It’s expected the book will widen the rift between Harry, Meghan, and the royal family, and add fuel to the media fire that the couple accuses of being vehemently against them.

For instance, Bower claims that Meghan made Duchess Kate Middleton cry at the bridesmaid dress fittings for her wedding, and that Meghan’s comments about the child brought Kate to tears. He adds that Queen Elizabeth was relieved when Meghan decided against attending Prince Phillip’s funeral alongside Harry, allegedly telling her aids, “Thank goodness Meghan is not coming.”

Bower certainly doesn’t portray Meghan in a positive light in the book. He goes so far as to claim the Suits actress married the prince for publicity.

She said to her father ‘I want to be famous, I want to walk down the red carpet’ and marrying Harry she achieved exactly that ambition,” Bower has said.

“People were very excited by the fact that there was a mixed-race girl coming. It was going to be a great development for the royal family,” Bower added, before noting that it “went wrong.” “Both sides are to blame but I believe the blame lies mostly with Meghan, who I don't think understood the monarchy,” the biographer concluded.
