In the Harry Potter series, Hufflepuff house has a bit of a negative reputation. In all honesty, the house was set up for this by the author of the series herself. The first few references to Hufflepuff in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone mention that they are considered the "duffer" house, that some students would rather leave Hogwarts than be sorted into such a house.
Still, as a proud and dedicated Hufflepuff, this writer firmly believes that Hufflepuff is one of the best houses at Hogwarts. Its members are fair, loyal and hard-working. They believe in doing what is right, no matter what. Never boasting nor egocentric, those sorted into Hufflepuff believe that the greatest thing a witch or wizard can do is to lift others up and support those around them.
Though this wonderful house has little representation in the series itself, there are many celebrities out there who embody the traits that make Hufflepuff so great.
10 Tom Holland
It is important to note that Tom has declared himself a Gryffindor on the basis of the stereotypes that are associated with the series, claiming that nobody wants to be a Hufflepuff. However, by watching his press interviews and social media posts, it has become very clear that this boy is a Hufflepuff through and through.
With his kind, gentle nature and goofy-yet-theatrical dedication to every joke and bit (not to mention his inability to keep a single secret), it's obvious that Tom belongs in Hufflepuff.
9 Matthew Lewis
Though Matthew Lewis rose to fame by bringing life to the beloved, true Gryffindor that is Neville Longbottom, the actor himself does not belong to his character's house.
In real life, Matthew Lewis is actually a Hufflepuff. It really does make sense. Nobody who has ever met the man can bring themselves to say anything bad about him. He was naturally able to establish and nurture long term friendships with all of the actors from the Potterworld.
8 Hailee Steinfeld
Though relatively new on the scene, Hailee Steinfeld has wasted no time making a name for herself in Hollywood. This kind and goofy starlet embraces the hardworking and dedicated side of the Hufflepuff house to a T.
Hailee Steinfeld has split herself evenly between pursuing her acting and singing career, a truly excelling at both. Hufflepuffs are able to dedicate themselves to each and every one of their passions without spreading themselves too thin, a trait that Hailee Steinfeld has down in spades.
It's important to note that this is in reference to the character of Deadpool, not Ryan Renoylds himself. Though fictional, his social media and pop culture presence has made Deadpool a relative celebrity in his own right; the fact that he is canonically a Hufflepuff is just icing upon an already perfected cake.
Fun fact: Deadpool was originally drawn as a Gryffindor, but before the comic was released, he was changed to a Hufflepuff. This makes perfect sense, as his dedicated nature and fierce defense of what is right make this anti-hero a perfect fit for the Hufflepuff house.
6 Sam Claflin
It's no secret that Sam Claflin is one of the hardest working people in Hollywood. He has 27 actor credits under his belt --including such beloved films as The Hunger Games series, Love Rosie and a small role in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies-- and has clearly made a name for himself in the industry.
Dedication isn't the only Hufflepuff trait that Sam has in his arsenal. According to anyone who has ever worked with him (claims can be found in countless interviews and behind the scenes featurettes), he is one of the kindest and most genuine people out there.
5 Rupert Grint
Yes, it's true. The man behind the beloved character of Ronald Weasley is actually a Hufflepuff. This claim isn't so far-fetched; after all, this is a man who spent a portion of the money that he earned working on the Harry Potter films on a fully functional ice cream truck.
Rupert Grint took the Pottermore quiz on camera, as part of a short video series where actors from the Harry Potter world discover their wizard selves using the popular Potter website. Upon taking the quiz, he discovered that he was a Hufflepuff.
Hardworking, laid back and kind to a fault, Rupert will always be welcome in Hufflepuff house.
4 Kristen Bell
Kristen Bell is one of those people you can't help but love. Beautiful, kind, hardworking and dedicated to a variety of unique and worthwhile passions, Kristen Bell has her hand in every single cookie jar in Hollywood.
Not only does she star in one of the biggest Disney films of all time (Frozen), she is also the lead of one of the most beloved and highest-rated sitcoms of the century (The Good Place). In addition, she has started an affordable and sustainable baby care line with her husband, which is being distributed through department stores.
Hard-working, kind and committing to doing her part to make the world a better place, Kristen is a Hufflepuff through and through.
3 Ed Sheeran
It's important to note that Ed Sheeran has yet to take the Pottermore sorting quiz himself. However, he personally identifies with the Hufflepuff house, and that's valid/good enough for this writer.
When asked about his Hogwarts house, Ed Sheeran explained that, based upon house stereotypes, he never felt drawn towards the brave and reckless Gryffindor, the evil Slytherin, nor the intellectual Ravenclaws. Hufflepuff was just filled with normal people doing their own thing and he gravitated towards that.
However, based on his honest and genuine nature and the amount of work he puts into his music, it is clear that he was correct and that the quiz is not needed in this case. Ed Sheeran is the definition of a Hufflepuff.
2 Carly Rae Jepsen
You'd be hard pressed to find a celebrity who fits the Hufflepuff bill better than the one and only Carly Rae Jepsen. This Canadian pop star is the epitome of light and softness. Her aura is bright and sunshine yellow.
In every interview, her kind and child-like nature shoots out of her like bright sunbeams and one cannot help but feel its magnetic warmth. Her fandom is one of the most wholesome places on the internet, while her music evokes such uplifting and summery feelings that one cannot help but to dance along. Anyone would be lucky to be half as wonderful as this beloved Hufflepuff.
1 Eddie Redmayne
One of the most notable Hollywood Hufflepuffs is none other than the lead of the Fantastic Beasts series, Eddie Redmayne. In fact, in a bit of promotion for the series, Eddie filmed a video in the defense of the oft-forgotten house.
In interviews, Eddie comes across as the perfect combination of awkward and endearing. He seems simply blown away by being lucky enough to have gotten this far in his career and is one of the kindest, humblest, and most genuine actors in the industry. Always excited to meet a fan and ready to give out warm and gentle hugs, Eddie Redmayne is the epitome of the Hufflepuff house.
