Can you believe it's been 20 years since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone hit theaters? HBO Max will be airing a 20th anniversary special starting in 2022. For those who grew up with Harry Potter, that is hard to believe. Fans have seen the actors grow up right in front of their eyes and grew up with them.

The main three actors- Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint- are mostly still in the spotlight and have continued to act, whether it's on screen or on stage, but what happened to the other supporting actors?

Matthew Lewis, 32, who played Neville Longbottom, has been up to a lot in his public and personal life since Harry Potter first premiered. He was a crucial part of the series and sometimes fans forget that Harry would have never defeated Voldemort without Neville.

11 His Role In 'Harry Potter'

Matthew Lewis played Neville Longbottom, Harry, Ron and Hermione's dorky pure-blood friend whose parents were tortured into insanity by Bellatrix LeStrange. He became the hero of the series when he killed Voldemort's snake, Nagini, who was the last horcrux. After Hogwarts, Longbottom went on to marry Hannah Abbott, a Hufflepuff from his time in school, and became a Hogwarts professor.

10 Matthew Lewis' Other Acting Roles

Even though Lewis is most known for his time in Harry Potter, he has gone on to star in other roles on film and TV such as The Rise, The Syndicate, The Sweet Shop, Terminal, The Night Of The Loving Dead, Baby Done, All Creatures Small And Great and more. Although none of these were major blockbuster films, he did prove himself as an actor.

9 His Major Glow-Up

Most Harry Potter fans know of him as the dorky Neville who had bad teeth and was a bit chunky. But when fans saw him for the first time at the last film premiere, they did a double take. He also did a magazine shoot with Attitude Magazine in very little clothing that definitely had the internet talking. Lewis certainly had a major glow-up and became one of the heartthrobs of the cast. "I was excited I guess to go on the red carpet on the release of the last film and be me, and not to have to have the fat suit under my t-shirt. It was quite an exciting buzz," he told the publication.

8 Honorary Masters of Art Degree

Because Lewis was a child actor most of his schooling was done in trailers on set. He never got to go to college. So, in July 2012, Lewis was awarded an honorary Masters Of Arts Degree from Leeds Metropolitan University for his contribution to the arts and his charity work. “Big thanks to Leeds Metropolitan University for today. Everybody was charming. Congrats to all graduates who actually deserve their degrees!” he tweeted.

7 Matthew Lewis' Theater Career

Along with acting on the big screen, Lewis has also dabbled in theater, much like some of his other Harry Potter co-stars. Besides performing for the Queen in 2011 for her 80th birthday, where he played Neville Longbottom, he has also been in three others plays. Just as Harry Potter was ending, he starred in Verdict by Agatha Christie. Then a year later, Lewis made his West End debut in Our Boys. In 2016, he played Peter in Unfaithful.

6 'Me Before You'

Perhaps his biggest role besides Neville was in 2016, when he starred in Me Before You. He played Emilia Clarke's boyfriend, Patrick. The movie was a commercial success and based off the novel by Jojo Moyes. His role received mostly positive reviews, and he played the villain well.

5 Matthew Lewis On 'Impractical Jokers'

Impractical Jokers is a popular TV show where four best friends who play jokes on each other and other people mostly around New York City. Whoever loses receives a punishment. However, in 2017, Matthew Lewis filled in for his friend Sal Vulcano, when he had to step out for the episode, which just so happened to be shot in Universal Studios Orlando. Most people didn't recognize him, but if he had showed up on a Harry Potter ride, there might have been some happy fans.

4 He Got Married

Lewis met Angela Jones in January 2016, when she worked at the Celebration of Harry Potter event at Universal, where she was a VIP event manager for the resort and event. Their relationship moved fast, and they became engaged in November 2016. Lewis and Jones got married in May 2018 in Italy. They now live together with their adorable dog and have a happy, but pretty private life together.

3 Leeds Rugby Foundation Charity

Lewis is the vice-president of the Leeds Rugby Foundation Charity. According to their website, "The Foundation was formed with the aim of providing high quality sports, health and educational opportunities to people living in Leeds and Yorkshire." This is just one of the many charities that he works with to help improve lives of those in his hometown.

You can also add podcast host to Matthew Lewis' resume. The Official Leeds United Podcast is a weekly show hosted by Lewis, alongside Emma Jones, Jermaine Beckford and Patrick Bamford. 1 The 'Harry Potter' 20th Reunion Special

Twenty years after Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone premiered, most of the cast is reuniting for a HBO MAX special. Harry Potter: 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will start streaming on January 1 and then air at a later date on network TV. This is the first time most of the cast will be together since the last movie. Lewis will be present on the special, along with his other Hogwarts classmates. One noticeable absence is author J.K. Rowling.
