Harry Styles has lent his voice and fortune to bring awareness to gun control efforts after the tragic mass shooting tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

Harry Styles Announced He Is Partnering With Everytown for Gun Safety

On Tuesday, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos went on a rampage and opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. It resulted in the devastating deaths of 19 children and two teachers. 28-year-old pop star Harry Styles has announced that he was partnering with nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety. The "As It Was" singer will be working with the organization - whose work it is to end gun violence - by donating over $1million in tour proceeds to the organization.

Styles took to his social media profiles on Friday to share a statement with his 45.2million followers with the caption: "End gun violence."

The statement he shared read: "Along with all of you, I have been absolutely devastated by the recent string of mass shootings in America, culminating at the latest in Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. On our North American tour, we will be partnering with Everytown who work to end gun violence, donating to support their efforts, and sharing their suggested action items. Love, H."

He then shared a shocking statistic from Everytown for Gun Safety which read: "Firearms are the #1 leading cause of death for American children and teens."

The Gunman In The Robb Elementary School Shooting Legally Purchased Two AR-15 Rifles

18-year-old Salvador Ramos legally purchased two AR-15 rifles from a store three miles from his home last week. He also bought more than 300 rounds of ammunition to use in the attack. Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Thursday said that there were no known signs that he had mental problems, and that he did not have a criminal record. How he managed to buy the $5,000 worth of weapons remains unclear, as he was allegedly bullied at school for being poor.

The Shooter Wounded His Grandmother And Stole Her Car

Before opening fire at Robb Elementary, the Ramos shot his grandmother at their home. He shot her in the face, but she survived and ran to a neighbor's house where she called police. The shooter then stole his grandmother's car and drove it towards Robb Elementary school. He did not have a driving license and crashed into a ditch near the school.
