  • Here Are 15 Derpin' Dobermans To Make Your Day

It wasn't long ago that the Doberman Pinscher was the Pit Bull of today's media. Vicious, aggressive, unpredictable – there are many misconceptions about Doberman Pinschers that continue to exist today. One old wives tale claims that Dobermans become aggressive and can turn on their owners in a blink of an eye because their brains grow too big for their skulls. Of course, this is all hogwash. Dobermans aren't a breed for everyone, but with a bit of training using positive reinforcement and lots of patience, they are great dogs.

In order to show the world that this gorgeous breed isn't comprised of vicious man-killers, we've compiled a list of the 15 photos that show off the goofier side of Dobermans.

    I Believe I Can Fly

    @doberjac #Dobe #Doberman #Dobermann #DobermanPinscher #DobermanInstagram

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

We’re pretty sure that this adorable pup is singing R. Kelly’s hit I Believe I Can Fly as he frolics through the green grass. We wouldn’t be shocked if he was trying to jump as high as he could in order to catch a ball, or perhaps to try to catch that darned squirrel that keeps taunting him every single time he goes out for a walk with his owner.

Normally, in America, many breeders and owners tend to crop their Doberman’s ears when they are tiny puppies while over in Europe, breeders tend to let them stay au natural.

However, we won’t lie: it’s so cute when Dobes have natural ears because it’s absolutely hilarious watching them fly around in the air when the dogs are running around. Cropped ears look nice, but their natural ears give the breed a clownish air.

This breed may look scary, but looks can be deceiving—they’re total dorks!

Rolling Around Like A Tiny Puppy

It’s a well-known fact among Dobe owners that Dobermans are ginormous goofballs, and this cutie pie is no exception to the rule.

This big doofus clearly thinks she is still an itty-bitty puppy and can safely roll around the chair without falling off at some point. Sadly, she still hasn’t figured out that she’s now a fully-grown adult dog and if she keeps rolling around like that while playing with her toy, then she’s going to fall flat onto her face.

Still, even though we’d feel terrible if this pretty girl fell off the chair, we can’t help but squeal with glee as we watch her play with her stuffed animal. It’s always adorable seeing large breeds channel their inner puppy while they romp around.

That’s also the good thing about owning a Doberman: they’ll always keep you laughing with their antics. Their goofball nature will help keep the blues away — after all, no one can resist laughter when there’s a Dobe around!

    Thrown The Dang Ball, Ma
    Via: Spanishmal.tumblr.com

Some breeds, such as the German Shepherd Dog and the Belgian Malinois, look absolutely majestic when they fetch a ball. They make every leap and bound look like it is part of a well-choreographed dance.

Then there are doofuses like the Doberman Pinscher who practically trip all over themselves when trying to catch the ball. They might look beautiful and elegant while walking next to their owner on a leash, but their inner clown takes over during a rousing game of fetch and many a Doberman has stumbled over their own four feet while chasing after a tennis ball.

While Dobermans might not be as elegant as a German Shepherd Dog or the ridiculously intense Malinois, at least they entertain their owners and the other patrons at the dog park with their enthusiasm for a good game of fetch. There’s nothing funnier than watching a Doberman get so excited over a tennis ball that they start sticking their tongues out or accidentally stumble over themselves.

Must... Lick... Peanut Butter... Off... Nose

    #dobe #Doberman #Dobermann #DobermanPinscher #dobermaninstagram #reddoberman

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

Filling a Kong with peanut butter is a great way to burn off our pooch’s mental energy and allows our pets to enjoy a nice treat every once in a while. For Doberman owners, a peanut butter-filled Kong is an absolute must because this breed needs tons of mental and physical exercise. Otherwise, they become absolute hellions and destroy our furniture, shoes, etc.

Some dogs are very dainty when they eat peanut butter while others prefer a more methodical approach. However, this Doberman was clearly too excited to have a tasty treat and probably tried to eat it all up in one fell swoop.

Even though the poor dog probably got peanut butter up her nose (we imagine it probably feels worse than accidentally getting water in your nostrils) we won’t lie, this picture is too cute for words. We just want to squish this dork and give her lots of kisses!

He Clearly Fell Face First Into The Sand

    #Dobe #Doberman #Dobermann #DobermanPinscher #dobermaninstagram

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

For owners who are lucky enough to live near a dog-friendly beach or lake, there’s nothing better than watching our pooches enjoy a nice swim.

However, other dogs prefer to dig happily away in the sand or splash along the waves with the rest of their pals.

Unfortunately for this Doberman’s owner, their pet somehow got a face full of sand. Given the fact that Dobes are the biggest clowns ever, we wouldn’t be shocked if this pup accidentally tripped while trying to catch the Chuck-It ball. Or he attempted to dig a hole in the sand to the center of the Earth.

Either way, we feel bad for this poor owner because we know that it is going to be a huge pain in the butt to wash all of the sand off of the dog’s face. At least Dobermans have short fur—it would be a nightmare trying to get all of that gunk out of a long-haired breed!

Son, You Are Doing Me A Frighten

    #dobe #Doberman #dobermanpinscher #dobermaninstagram

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

Any Doberman owner will tell you that their goofball pets have the best reaction faces, and this photo is living proof of that statement.

We can’t stop giggling at how scared the red Dobe looks or how mischievous his black and tan pal looks. We wouldn’t be shocked if the one on the right decided it would be a FANTASTIC idea to scare the bejeezus out of his pal by sneaking up and trying to initiate a rousing game of chase on the beach.

Unfortunately, his poor friend jumped 10 feet into the air and started running away. Note to self: never sneak up on Dobermans because they are just as bad as cats when it comes to being startled.

With any luck, the black and tan Dobe will learn that it’s probably not a great way to get your pals to play by playing a practical joke and frightening them.

A Doberman's Mortal Enemy: The Hose

Many dogs have things that frighten them, such as fireworks, thunderstorms or a car backfiring. Other canines go bonkers at the sight of their mortal enemy, the local mailman or the UPS truck that occasionally drives down the block.

However, this is the first time we’ve heard of a Doberman having a mortal enemy in the form of a hose. We can’t stop snickering at how this adorable Doberbutt keeps trying to bite the water and seems absolutely determined to defeat his enemy by giving a vicious snarl.

Perhaps this Doberman believes that if he looks scary, the hose will be terrified and roll over in defeat. Of course, this would allow him to constantly have easy access to the water and he could drink his fill whenever he wants.

Even on a hot day when the humidity is too much to bear, Dobermans are always there to make us laugh.

    Look Dad, I'm Patriotic

    #ForthOfJuly #dobe #Doberman #DobermanPinscher #dobermaninstagram

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

We don’t know what’s cuter—this dorky Dobe’s smile or the hilarious red, white and blue furry collar.

Even though that furry collar is absolutely atrocious, (seriously, what poor animal died to make that thing?) we can’t stop laughing hysterically at how proud this Doberman is to wear it. Even better, the owner decided to add red, white and blue floral leis in order to show off her Doberman’s patriotic spirit for the fourth of July.

While we wouldn’t dream of embarrassing our pooches by forcing them to prance around in cheesy collars and leis, we can’t help but be a bit envious of this Dobe’s owner. Many dogs are absolutely terrified of the fourth of July and think that the world is ending because our charming neighbors keep setting off fireworks like it is the last thing we’ll ever do. Of course, this means we have to stay home and comfort our pups while trying to calm their nerves instead of being able to take cute patriotic-themed Instagram pics.

    Piggy Face
    Via: doberbutts.tumblr.com

We all have bad days, whether it is because we’ve reached our limit with our annoyingly chipper co-worker who won’t stop laughing all the time (we still want to know what she puts in her coffee) or when our cat has an upset stomach and barfs all over our brand new running sneakers.

Regardless of what is putting us into a funk, sometimes not even cheesy YouTube videos of baby animals frolicking in the grass can cheer us up.

However, there is one proven antidote for even the worst bad day the universe can throw at us: Dobermans making goofy faces.

C’mon, look at this dog making a piggy face. Feel the cuteness radiating throughout your body. Feel the anger drifting away as you start to snicker over this doofy Doberman. Embrace this feeling, and watch the tension disappear once you start laughing. You’ll definitely feel happier after a good chuckle at this pooch’s piggy face!

    Like Owner, Like Dog

    #dobe #doberman #dobermanpinscher #dobermaninstagram #bestfriends

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

There is an old wives tale about dogs that says they often take on the traits of their owners. Sometimes there is some truth to it—goodness knows my dog has my light brown eyes and gold highlights. I’ve also encountered a few dogs that were absolute jerks, just like their owners. On the flip side, I’ve also met several dogs at the dog park who were absolute sweethearts and clearly took after their kind-hearted owners.

However, this photo is probably the best example of the popular old wives tale about dogs taking after their owners.

Not only is the Doberman and his owner doing their best “tongue out Tuesday” pose, but they’re even sitting in the exact same position and have almost the same exact eye color too. The icing on the cake would have been if the dog was wearing the exact same shirt as his master. Now that would’ve been hilarious!

Bro, Look At Me Catching The Ball

    #dobe #dobermanpinscher #doberman #dobermaninstagram

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

We’ve all encountered that one wannabe macho bro who tries to show off but fails miserably. Sometimes, if we’re lucky enough, someone films it and posts on YouTube for all the world to see.

This Doberman is clearly trying to mimic the macho bro kind of male by showing off how he can catch the ball, but judging by the white poodle’s face, she’s clearly not impressed by his friend’s antics. If she could talk, we’re pretty sure she’d say “Dude…no. Just no. Stop trying to impress me, you’re only going to wind up hurting yourself.”

The tape around the Dobe’s ears to help them stand on their own also kills whatever macho vibe the poor dog was trying to go for. There’s not a dog alive who would take another canine seriously with that ridiculous red tape plastered all over their ears.

This Doberman may try to show off and look macho, but he’s clearly failing miserably.

Dobermans Love To Prance With Glee

    @walkbarkrun #dobe #doberman #dobermanpinscher #dobermaninstagram

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

One common misconception about this breed is that they are vicious killers who will instantly turn on their masters without a second thought. Another hilarious myth about this breed claims that they go bonkers because their brain keeps growing and pushes into their skull.

Obviously, this is so not true. Look at this adorable Dobe! Does she look vicious to you? The only thing we’d be afraid of is those floppy ears and that whiplike tail smacking us when she starts wriggling around in glee.

Plus, look at how proud she is that she caught the ball. If this Doberman could talk, we’re pretty sure she’d be strutting around saying “hahahaha I caught it, look at how awesome I am!”

Dobermans certainly aren’t a breed for newcomers, but these dogs aren’t vicious killers nor do their skulls grow like the Hulks. If anything, they might kill you because you’re laughing too damn hard at their antics!

    Dobermans Are Furry Sharks

    #dobermaninstagram #dobe #dobermanpinscher #doberman

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

If you are thinking about purchasing or adopting a Doberman, the first thing any owner will warn you about is the fact that the breed are total land sharks when they are puppies and well into their teen years.

Seriously, if you thought the Velociraptors from Jurassic World were mouthy, obnoxious brats, they are nothing compared to a teething, rambunctious Doberman puppy. If that still doesn’t deter you from wanting a Dobe of your very own, just make sure that you hire a good trainer that uses positive reinforcement and purchase lots of toys so your pup doesn’t chew up your furniture and shoes.

In this Instagram photo, the land shark Doberman is clearly trying to do his best impression of the vicious Great White shark from Jaws. The only difference is that a Dober will playfully nip at their owners when their pups and can be easily taught to redirect that behavior to an appropriate toy.

    Dobermans Make The Best Faces

    #doberman #dobermaninstagram #dobermanpinscher #dobe

A post shared by Doberman Pinscher (@dobermaninstagram) on

Despite their reputation for aggression and being vicious man-killers, Dobermans are pretty much clowns in a furry suit. They will do absolutely anything to make their owners laugh, and your sides will constantly hurt from giggling at their doofy behavior. If you thought Scooby-Doo from the Hanna-Barbara cartoons was a giant derp, that is nothing compared to life with a Dobe.

This collage is the perfect example of life with a Doberman. When the occasion calls for it, they can be serious and will spend all day snuggling with you if you’ve had a huge fight with your best friend or significant other.

However, whenever you need a good laugh to brighten up your day or they just feel like being mischievous, Dobes will make funny faces and goof off just to see that huge smile spread across your face. There’s nothing better than having a Doberman in your life!
