In an ideal world, everyone would look at the mistakes they’ve made in life as nothing more than an opportunity to learn and grow as a human being. In reality, however, most adults have made some decisions that fill them with great regret for one reason or another whenever they are reminded of them. On the bright side, in a lot of cases, it can be relatively easy for people to ignore their regrets on a day to day basis.

Unfortunately for celebrities, some of the things that they regret were done in public so it can be very hard to put them in the rearview mirror on an ongoing basis. In fact, some stars owe a huge portion of their fame to things they regret so they get reminded of that thing over and over again during interviews.

A celebrity for decades at this point, many people tend to forget that Mark Wahlberg first rose to fame as a rapper when he was known as Marky Mark. Thankfully for Wahlberg, he managed to launch a hugely successful movie career that has spanned decades and earned him legions of fame. Remarkably enough, however, Mark Wahlberg seems to regret the film that really made Hollywood buy into him as a movie star, Boogie Nights.

Major Movie Star

Back when Mark Wahlberg appeared in 1995’s The Basketball Diaries, it is very safe to say that nobody anticipated that his acting career would become so successful and lasting. Going on to give a standout performance in the 1996 thriller Fear, Wahlberg then landed the role of a lifetime when he starred in Boogie Nights as Dirk Diggler. Arguably one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the ‘90s, Boogie Nights changed the way that Hollywood and moviegoers perceived Mark Wahlberg.

Currently a highly bankable star, Mark Walhberg has starred in a slew of blockbuster films including the Transformers franchise and Deepwater Horizon among others. Also, a talented actor, Wahlberg’s performances in films like The Departed, The Fighter, Three Kings, Patriots Day, and Lone Survivor have garnered lots of praise. Changing Perspective

When the general public thinks about Mark Wahlberg, images of him from his most popular and successful films are bound to be what comes to mind first. Aside from that, Wahlberg has also exhibited a larger than life personality when he appears on talk shows, including his over the top antics during a 2013 appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

Away from the glaring eye of the general public, however, MarkWahlberg’s life has undergone a massive change since he first became a star. After all, Mark Walhberg married Rhea Durham in 2009 and he seems to be very content in his personal life largely due to his marriage to that fascinating model. On top of his marriage, Wahlberg often seems to light up whenever he talks about the 4 children that he has with Durham. Given all of that, it only makes sense that Wahlberg’s priorities have also changed in recent years.

His Feelings Years Later

When Mark Wahlberg was making the press rounds to promote his movie Daddy’s Home 2 in 2017, it had been twenty years since Boogie Nights was originally screened for the public. Given that fact, it makes sense that he was asked about the 1997 film. However, many fans of that movie were very surprised to read about how Wahlberg felt about Boogie Nights all of those years later.

During an interview with Chicago Inc, Mark Wahlberg said something about starring in Boogie Nights that certainly garnered a lot of attention. “I just always hope that God is a movie fan and also forgiving because I’ve made some poor choices in my past,” he said, adding that Boogie Nights was one film that came to mind.”

During a later interview with People, Mark Wahlberg clarified that comment by explaining the moment that made him feel that way. “I was sitting in front of a couple of thousand kids talking about and trying to encourage them to come back to their faith, and I was just saying that I just hope he has a sense of humor because I maybe made some decisions that may not be okay with Him,”

Once Mark Wahlberg clarified his original comment, it made some observers believe the actor didn’t regret making Boogie Nights. However, during that same People interview, Wahlberg went on to speak about another negative way that Boogie Nights affects his current life. “I don’t want to compromise my artistic integrity or choices based on my faith or my family, but I also have other things to consider, and being a little bit older and a little wiser, the idea of having to explain that movie and the reason behind it to my kids is another issue,”
