In the past, most major celebrities refused to star in commercials. Of course, those stars didn’t refuse those deals because they didn’t want to make a quick buck. Instead, the vast majority of stars were worried that kind of work would make the general public take them less seriously as artists.

Over the last few decades, it has become increasingly acceptable for celebrities to make a fortune promoting various companies. One of the main reasons for that is that when Michael Jordan starred in the iconic “Like Mike” Nike commercials, other stars saw that it made him even more famous, which is saying something. Now, all of these years later it is perfectly normal for someone like Matthew McConaughey to star in overly serious Lincoln commercials.

While there are a lot of stars who are making a fortune working with companies these days, there are a few celebrities who seem to be doing better in that arena. For example, Travis Scott has notably managed to sign promotional deals with two of the biggest brands around, McDonald’s and Nike. With that in mind, it begs an obvious question, how much money is Scott making from those two deals?

Travis’ Music Career

After trying to form musical duos with more than one of his friends, Travis Scott wound up going it alone and make a name for himself after the release of his debut mixtape. Eventually signed by Epic Records, Scott would go on to release his first major-label album, Rodeo, in 2015. By then, Scott had earned so much respect in the business that artists like Quavo, 2 Chainz, The Weeknd, Swae Lee, Kanye West, and Justin Bieber all made appearances on Rodeo. With that in mind, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the album would be a critical and commercial hit for Scott.

After the early successes in Travis Scott’s career, he has gone on to release his second solo album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, and his third, Astroworld. Unsurprisingly, both releases would perform extremely well and Astroworld would even be nominated for a Best Rap Album award at the Grammys. Thankfully for Scott’s most devoted fans, they won’t have to wait long for him to release new music as his fourth solo album, Utopia, is set to come out in 2021.

Travis’ Other Claim To Fame

In addition to Travis Scott’s music career, there is another reason why he has become so well-known, his involvement with Kylie Jenner. After Scott and Jenner began dating in 2017, Kylie would go on to give birth to his daughter Stormi in 2018.

Since Travis Scott is in his late-20s, the fact that he has a daughter isn’t all that noteworthy. Of course, since the mother of Scott’s daughter is a member of one of the most talked-about families in the world, that has garnered a great deal of attention. In fact, it seems extremely likely that a lot of people who’ve never listened to Scott’s music know who he is because of his link to the Jenner/Kardashian family. With that in mind, it seems reasonable to conclude that part of the reason why Scott’s merchandising deals have been so successful is his link to Kylie Jenner.

Mega-Money Deals

As of the time of this writing, Travis Scott has a net worth of $50 million according to celebritynetworth.com. While that certainly is an impressive figure, it seems likely he will become a great deal more wealthy in the years to come. After all, Scott’s deals with companies like McDonald’s, Playstation, and Nike have been making him a fortune.

Of course, unless you have access to Travis Scott’s books, there is no way to know exactly how much money the rapper has made from his deals with companies. That said, if there is any publication whose reports on the matter can be taken seriously, it is Forbes. For that reason, it seems safe to trust the estimated figures that Forbes says that Scott has made from those relationships. For example, Forbes reported that Scott had already made at least $1 million from his deal with Playstation which seems reasonable since that relationship hasn’t been in place for long.

when it comes to Travis Scott’s deal with Nike, Forbes is surprisingly cagey. For example, they report that Scott “probably earns about $10 million a year or so from his Nike deal”. Assuming that figure is accurate, Scott made a massive amount from the deal. However, Forbes then went on to point out Scott’s Nike deal is more valuable than that since “his shoes’ popularity has granted him tastemaker status”. According to Forbes, the success of Scott’s Nike deal is the reason other companies want to work with him.

Once Travis Scott made a deal with McDonald’s the fast-food giant released a special meal that was named after the rapper. The Travis Scott Meal proved to be so popular that many McDonald’s restaurants reportedly ran out of the ingredients needed to make it. With that in mind, it makes sense that Scott’s deal with McDonald’s is the most lucrative for him. However, the reason for that is that on top of the flat $5 million deal Scott made with McDonald’s, he also gets paid for the merchandise related to him that the company sells. Since the merchandise part of his deal netted $15 million for Scott, that means that McDonald’s has reportedly paid him a total of $20 million according to Forbes.
