Piers Morgan first began his career back in 1989 when he was a writer and editor for a number of British publications, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. Considering the cutthroat and cunnings ways of the British media, Piers was also shed in quite a negative light.

He later made his way over to the United States, where he became recognized for appearing on a number of shows! Well, it appears as if Piers is making headlines again after the long-awaited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Following Piers' crass statement regarding Meghan Markle's mental health, it seems as if his fellow Good Morning Britain team complained, as did Markle, leaving Morgan with no choice but to walk away. Luckily for Piers, he's still got his $20 million net worth to fall back on. So, how did you he do so well for himself? Let's find out!

Piers Morgan's career began back in 1985 when he joined the South London News as a reporter. This ultimately took him to The Sun, for who he would begin freelancing in 1988.  Morgan eventually remained at The Sun full-time as a writer for their tabloid-style, Bizarre column.

Due to his status at the British publication, Piers skyrocketed within the industry due to his self-publicity and managed to become close to countless celebs, including Madonna, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, and Sylvester Stallone to name a few.

In 1994, Piers became the editor of the News of the World before moving on over to The Daily Mirror. He remained part of the British media for quite some time, however, in 2006, Piers made his official move over to the United States where he would appear as a judge on the hit series, America's Got Talent alongside Brandy Norwood and David Hasselhoff.

The star began to make a name for himself across the globe, however, it wasn't a name followed by favorable things. Piers became known for his cunnings and ruthless ways, which clearly set him apart from any of his competition.

In 2009, Piers began hosting Piers Morgan's Life Stories on ITV before landing his permanent hosting gig at Good Morning Britain. Luckily for Piers, his success in the media industry has allowed him to amass a whopping $20 million net worth!

While he has certainly become a massive figure in both the United Kingdom and the United States, Piers has found himself getting under many people's skin! If it wasn't Chelsea Handler, Ariana Grande, or Kim Kardashian, he is finding ways to disparage the name of none other than the Duchess of Sussex herself, Meghan Markle.

Morgan found himself in the hot seat last week when he bashed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah. After confessing that she had felt very down and dark during her time in the palace, so much that she wanted to end her life, Piers accused Meghan of lying!

This didn't sit well with the British public or Piers' fellow Good Morning Britain co-hosts, who all reportedly complained of Morgan's behavior. The backlash ultimately left Piers with no other choice but to walk away from his hosting duties for good!
