Sadly on July 28, 2020, Regis passed away at the age of 88. Many people know him as many things, such as the host for the show Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee up until Kelly Ripa came in Live! with Regis and Kelly, where he left as the show's host altogether in 2011.

He lived a long and great life, even if it ended so suddenly and quietly due to the pandemic occurring. Millions of fans were left in grief and couldn't believe that his time was up. He will always have a special place in people's hearts as the host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, even years after he stepped down. According to Closer magazine, Regis and his wife, Joy were out on January 17 for a rare date night out. They ate at Craig’s Restaurant in Los Angeles and were like a young couple in deep love. He even got to make a cameo in his daughter's ABC show, Single Parents, and talked about his experience on working on his daughter's show. Despite show business being extremely serious, seeing J.J. and Regis work together as father and daughter was incredibly wholesome.

Then there is the time where he got to reunite with Kathie Lee by presenting her at the Visionary Award from the Movieguide Awards. Kathie also revealed that Regis was depressed amidst the pandemic, which broke his heart since he couldn't do what he loved, adding the fact that a friend of his died from the virus. The last time they were together was two weeks before Regis' passing, noting that it was the last time she saw him laugh.

Even though Regis has left us, his impact will never be forgotten and he will always be remembered for his incredible legacy as a man made for television.
