Stephen Amell is known for portraying Oliver Queen, and is also known by his alter ego name The Green Arrow. The character is based on the DC Comics and the series Arrow. The show lasted eight seasons between 2013 and 2019. The character also made several appearances in other DC series such as The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl.

Before his rise to fame, Stephen Amell would become the co-founder of Nocking Point Wines along with Andrew Harding, a former MTV executive.

How It All Started

The idea of the winery first began when both Stephen and Andrew were on a road trip from Los Angeles to Oakland in May 2012. Harding, who grew up in wine country, convinced Amell to make a stop in Paso Robles to do some wine-tasting, which turned out to be Stephen's first experience. They would eventually spend the next two days visiting more than a dozen wineries.

After the road trip, they both decided to dive into the winery business. They spent the next few months working on the idea of having a unique kind of winery and their concept would soon be born when they decided on the name: Nocking Point Wines.

As for the name, it was inspired by his DC action seriesit's where you knock an arrow on the bow.

Location and Staff

Andrew chose the location in Walla Walla Valley, in Washington state. The area was known for having lots of grapes and wheat, as well as being the second-highest concentration of vineyards and wineries in the mentioned state. Winery business erupted in the area in the last 30 years.

With the help of family, friends, and a roster of great winemakers, Nocking Point Wines was launched as a light-hearted but still-very-premium wine brand. The two men used technology, social media, and their platform to spread the word about their business.

Five years later, they were able to connect with hundreds of thousands of wine drinkers.

Wines

The wines are made from different types of grapes such as Mourvedre, Grenache, Syrah, Malbec, Sangiovese, and many more. All the products are 100% made in the USA.

Nocking Point has a different variety of red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines. In just a few years, they managed to create 83 types of different wines, with each of them having its unique name, its creative design, and its own story.

Wine & Wrestling

Stephen Amell wrestled a few matches in different wrestling companies such as WWE and Ring of Honor. He also had a good connection with some wrestlers; he managed to team up with AEW's Chris Jericho, and they came up with a new sparkling wine for AEW.

The inspiration came during Chris Jericho's backstage celebration while drinking a bottle of sparkling wine after becoming the first-ever AEW Champion on September 1, 2019. His catchphrase "A Little Bit of The Bubbly" became an instant viral sensation resulting in millions of views on YouTube.

Two months later, Nocking Points produced sparkling wine and it was named after the famous catchphrase. Chris Jericho even filmed an advertisement to endorse the product by saying:

“I’ve been working non-stop over the last few months to deliver a product that’s as classic and as great as I am….and I have. After you get a taste of A Little Bit Of The Bubbly, normal wine, beer and even vodka will taste like swill. This is pretty much the GOAT of adult beverages. You’re welcome.”

“It’s Jericho. It’s AEW. It’s A Little Bit Of The Bubbly,” said Stephen Amell. “I’m marking out.”

Also, another product Nightmare was named after AEW's Cody Rhodes.
