There are many legends in the music world, and Michael Jackson is, without a doubt, one of them. Whether they've been following him since his days in the Jackson 5 or they love his "Thriller" era the most, his fans think that he had a sense of style that no one could ever match.

As time went on, news of Jackson's plastic surgeries and high-profile friendship with Macaulay Culkin seemed to overshadow anything having to do with his talent or music. After Jackson passed away on June 25th, 2009, people started wondering about what his final day was like, and there's one detail in particular that fans have focused on. Let's take a look.

The Last Meal

Celebrity diets are always a source of interest for people. Kylie Jenner balances fries and juice and many other stars have certain things that they will or won't eat.

In Michael Jackson's case, people are curious about what he ate before he passed away.

"What would you eat for your last meal?" is a popular question that celebrities and other public figures are sometimes asked on TV, radio, or podcast interviews. It's a fascinating question as it gives someone a chance to daydream about the most delicious food that they can imagine.

Michael Jackson's last meal seems like it was chicken and spinach salad. According to Fox News, his personal chef, Kai Chase, says that on his final day, Jackson didn't eat granola and almond milk and fruit juice for breakfast. He usually enjoyed that breakfast every day, and at lunchtime, he would eat chicken and spinach salad. Cheat Sheet confirms that spinach and chicken was what he ate on that last day. Dinner for the family was sometimes ahi tuna, which was seared.

Michael Jackson's Food

What did Michael Jackson eat regularly? People who knew him talk about how he was sure to focus on healthy food.

Jackson's security specialist, Mike LaPerruque, was with the singer for a long time as he was hired for the 2001-2004 years and then again in 2007 and 2008. LaPerruque said that Michael Jackson ate brown rice and chicken. According to ABC News, he said of the family, "I always saw what they were eating, and it was always healthy -- chicken, brown rice, vegetables. He was always eating healthy."

Kevin McLin, who once worked as the publicist for Jackson and who was close to the family, said that Michael Jackson didn't eat red meat. He mentioned vegetables, Chinese, and turkey burgers as some of the foods that the singer ate on a regular basis. He said, "He was just careful about what he ate; he just tried to be healthy."

Life As Jackson's Personal Chef

Chase also told Fox News that they were thrilled to be hired as Michael Jackson's personal chef. They joked about being "punked" as they couldn't believe that it was really happening.

Chase said Jackson's children were careful to make sure that they were the right fit for the family. They said, "I came to the house and the first people I met were the kids. They started interviewing me. They told me: 'We're into healthy eating." Chase shared more about the kind of food that Jackson wanted. Chase said, "I said, 'What about doing comfort-food Saturdays? We could do barbecued chicken and corn on the cob, maybe Mexican food or soul food."' Jackson was careful because some food would lead to cramps, and he didn't want that to happen when he was dancing and performing.

More About His Last Moments

The LA Times wrote about Michael Jackson's last moments on June 24th and June 25th and said that he was having trouble sleeping. Conrad Murray, his doctor, gave him some substances that were designed for sleep. But he went to the hospital and he had gone into cardiac arrest, and he passed away.

Jackson's vocal director, Dorian Holley, shared with Time.com that he had been getting ready for a tour in London that would include 50 performance dates. He was enjoying rehearsing and it sounded like he was really excited.

Holley told the publication, "You would think that, on the one hand, the world has kind of beaten him up, and you could forgive him for having some trepidation and fear. But he didn't have any of that. Words fail to describe what people would have seen with the tour. I couldn't even imagine until last week when it became physically apparent [on the set]. He was ready to show the world, and I so wish there could have been just one concert so the world would have seen."
