As Italian band Måneskin’s international popularity is soaring, the Eurovision’s winning act have added a pop star to the list of their inspirations.

British singer Harry Styles is among the models the glam rock band looks up to, but not just for his music.

Måneskin’s Singer Damiano David Reveals Why He Loves Harry Styles

Damiano David sat for a special makeup sessions with makeup artist and YouTube NikkieTutorials.

David made headlines for being accused of snorting cocaine during the finale of Eurovision and was later cleared after he took a voluntary drug test. After what he described as a “personal attack,” the singer has become a social media sensation.

When Nikkie asked him who are the musicians and singer the band draws inspiration from, David said it isn’t only 1970s bands they look up to. Member of pop band One Direction and gender fluid artist Harry Styles also made the cut.

“Recently, we really like what Harry Styles is doing in terms of music and also in terms of aesthetic and fashion and the message that he sends,” he said.

In his solo career, Styles is contributing to challenge gender stereotypes by also wearing traditionally feminine clothes. Similarly, David wears makeup and gender-neutral outfits.

Måneskin Want To Collaborate With Miley Cyrus

Styles is far from being the only inspiration for the band. Måneskin had previously cited Miley Cyrus among the international artists they would love to work with in the future.

The mutual appreciation between Cyrus and the band prompted some fans to think a collaboration might be in the works. Some Måneskin lovers, in fact, haven’t failed to notice that Cyrus had started following the Italian band on Instagram.

Many seem to be thinking that the Midnight Sky singer must have been informed of the group’s desire to collaborate.

Hailing from Rome and aged between 18 and 21, Måneskin consist of singer Damiano David, bass player Victoria De Angelis, lead guitarist Thomas Raggi and drummer Ethan Torchio. The name of the group is a nod to De Angelis’ Danish ancestry and translates to “moonlight”.

The band took part in talent show X Factor in 2017 where they ranked second. Their popularity have skyrocketed after they won the Eurovision Song Contest on May 23 with their song, Zitti e Buoni.
