Even in her 50s, veteran actress Salma Hayek is not showing any signs of slowing down. Since becoming a Hollywood breakout star in the 1995 film Desperado, Hayek has gone on to star in several hit movies, including the Oscar-winning film Frida. Not to mention, the actress has also established her own production company, which has allowed her to pursue all sorts of passion projects.

With everything going on around her, one may think that the buzz around Hayek would tend to revolve around her work. Instead, however, the Oscar-nominated actress has become the subject of speculation as some wondered if Hayek had ever gone under the knife.

Why Are They Accusing Salma Hayek Of Having Plastic Surgery Done Again?

Hayek is no stranger to plastic surgery speculation. After all, the 54-year-old actress was once accused of getting botox after posting a selfie makeup-free. On Instagram, one user remarked, “Too much Botox :(. Not needed Salma!” Clapping back at the comment, Hayek replied, “I don’t have Botox. But thank you for the advice because I was thinking maybe it’s time.” Meanwhile, during an interview with Holmes Place, the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) actress also explained, “I don’t have any Botox. Maybe later I will change my mind but for now, I am comfortable being fifty.”

More recently, some also thought Hayek went under the knife after noticing her increased bust size. And while that may be true, the actress revealed that she still hasn’t had any work done on her body. Instead, this was the natural effect of menopause. “For some women, they get smaller. But there are some women that when you gain weight your boobs grow, and other women that when you have children and you breastfeed your boobs grow and they don't go back down,” Hayek explained during an appearance in Red Table Talk on Facebook Watch. “And then in some of the cases when you are in menopause they grow again.”

At the same time, Hayek understands why some may think she had some work done. “A lot of people said that I had breast augmentation. I don’t blame them,” the actress said. “My boobs were smaller. So was the rest of my body. But they just have kept growing many, many sizes.”

A study conducted in 2004 did find that about one in five women experience an increase in their breast size after undergoing menopause. At the same time, a 2020 study found that a “one-size increase in breast size score” increases the likelihood of having upper back pain, something that Hayek has experienced herself. “My back has been really suffering from it,” the actress revealed. “And not a lot of people talk about this.”

She Knows How To Age Gracefully

For Hayek, it’s important to live your best life at any age and that starts with embracing your body inside and out. In fact, the actress has revealed that she’s already started seeing grey hair on her head and it doesn’t faze her one bit. “I don’t dye [my hair] because I am curious to see how I am going to look with this,” Hayek said. “I am sure in the next movie they will say sorry you will have to dye it but I am enjoying watching them come in.” She also later added, “I am comfortable in my own skin.”

Despite having an incredible physique, Hayek has also never been a fan of working out. And that’s not something that’s going to change anytime soon. Her schedule also makes it nearly impossible to take a break and go to the gym. “I don’t have time to exercise. I am working,” Hayek told People. “I’ve had some 20-hour days.”

So instead, the actress has found a way to sneak in some exercises while she’s working. “It’s restorative yoga,” Hayek revealed. “I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long. So even when you brush your teeth, you’re working the muscles.” The actress also explained that this type of exercise allows one to tone the muscles “without clenching them.” “You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you’re aware of your body, you’d be surprised by the effect it can have.”

As for food, Hayek has always said that diets won’t work for her because she’s passionate about food almost as much as life itself. That said, the actress does watch what she eats, although she doesn’t go on strict diets. “The only thing I do is that I don’t eat animals every day. I eat all kinds of meat, but I consume it sparsely,” she revealed during a 2017 interview with The New York Times. “I would never eat two meats in a day.”

Meanwhile, Hayek is also one of the co-founders of the Cooler Cleanse, which offers a wide range of healthy juices and nut milks. As fans may know, going on a juice cleanse is one of the actress’s secrets to looking great and feeling fabulous at any age.
