Teyana Taylor is without a doubt one of the biggest up and coming stars in the music industry, amassing quite an impressive net worth, however, it seems things are officially coming to an end with Teyana after revealing that she is retiring from music for good! The star first came to prominence back in 2014 after the release of her debut studio album, 'VII', which went on to top Billboard's Hip-Hop and R&B charts. The artist is best known for being Kanye West's protegé, appearing in Kanye's video for his song, 'Fade'. It was at that very moment that it was made clear that Teyana Taylor was and is everything!

Despite her success and ever-growing career, it appears as if Teyana has had enough. The singer released a statement earlier this week claiming that she is retiring from music, stirring up quite the controversy within the industry. Fans and listeners were devastated to hear that Taylor would no longer be making any new music moving forward, and this is the very reason why!

Why Teyanna Taylor Is Retiring From Music

Teyanna Taylor has been crushing the game ever since the release of her debut studio album back in 2014. Since then, the artist has become one of the biggest up and coming stars, which was made clear after stealing all the thunder in Kanye West's music video for 'Fade', in which Teyana choreographed. Despite her success in the music industry, which earned her a whopping $3 million net worth, however, it's all coming to an end.

Earlier this week, Teyana took to her social media accounts to announce that she would be retiring from music for good! While this was not the easiest news to swallow for many of her fans, it is a decision that Taylor is standing firm on. "Baby, I got to do it for my mental health. I have to do it for my emotional health", Teyana said. "I have to do it for my kids, so I can stay alive for my kids. Until I'm free, until I can get Def Jam to release me, yes I want to retire", she finished.

This came as quite a shock, considering many fans and fellow industry members, didn't realize Teyana had been battling it out with Def Jam for quite some time. She went on to reveal that the label was simply not giving her the same energy she was, claiming that they were "reciprocating 10% of the 110% that she puts into her music". The star is set on not letting this industry take her down the way they have so many in the past.

When it comes to the reactions from fellow artists, 'Bodak Yellow' rapper, Cardi B, spoke out in support of Teyana, saying she is "soooo talented" and "had one of the best albums this year", showcasing her frustration with the industry, too. While Teyana will be missed, she's left behind quite a catalog of music to enjoy.
