As the Super Bowl comes to an end and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans rejoice, the conversation has shifted from Tom Brady's 7th-ring win to the very bland performance by The Weeknd during the half-time show that many are describing as being "weak."

While there are certainly many die-hard fans that loved the way he brought his Vegas-themed show to the NFL, the consensus is that The Weeknd's solo performance fell flat, and failed to produce the energy that fans have come to expect from the Super Bowl Half time show.

Unfortunately, this performance is being dubbed as an epic fail.

With many people weighing in to say he "couldn't hold this show on his own" The Weeknd is taking a hit for biting Michael Jackson's style, and failing to put his own signature on his performance.

Too Much, And Not Enough

Fans took to social media to share their disappointment over The Weeknd's performance, stating that in many ways it was 'too much,' yet it was far from being 'enough.'

Reported to have invested 7 million of his very own dollars into this show, the expectation was that we'd all be sitting at the edge of our seats today, with many stories to tell about his epic show. Sadly, that is not the case.  While it's evident that he put a whack of cash towards his Vegas-themed set, nobody seemed overly impressed with that, or with his orchestra of what seemed to be 100 people large.

Failed To Make It His Own

Many are attacking The Weeknd for failing to take charge of this performance and really "make it his own."  As he took the stage with his sparkly red jacket and white-top shoes, while wearing gloves, he was slammed for channeling his inner 'Michael Jackson' just a tad too much. His moves resembled those of MJ as much as his outfit did, leaving many unimpressed that The Weeknd wasn't able to bring his own unique brand to the forefront.

Even his most die-hard fans admitted that this was not a reflection of his best work. One fan wrote; "nothing against the Weeknd but that halftime show was dismal. I love the weekend. that was bad."

Super Bowl Fans Were Unimpressed

Another fan wrote; "production on point but his performance was lacking energy and personality...." while someone else wrote: "Never thought I’d be ready to get back to the game! Snooze 👎🏼".

Football fans were not entertained, with comments like; "👎🏻Awful, worst halftime show in years 😴," and; "Great singer👏 but its Super Bowl and we need more than just a singer. We need an entertainer #quebritney"

To his credit, The Weeknd performed many of this hits during his mashup performance, with a decent nod to his older, and some would argue 'better' music.
