The premise of Manifest definitely makes people think: when people board Montego Air Flight 828, they experience some terrible turbulence. But when they do land, they realize that it's been over five years and everyone who they love has moved on without them.

At first, the show reminds people of Lost, and since Lost had a finale that was controversial, that begs the question: could Manifest wrap up its mystery in a way that would satisfy viewers? After all, there are many questions that need answers.

Everyone seems to be talking about Manifest right now, and just like wanting to learn the behind-the-scenes secrets of Lostpeople want to know the whole story. Let's take a look at what the buzz around this show is all about.

The 'Manifest' Obsession

There are so many Netflix shows that get people talking, including Stranger Things which will come back for season 4 soon. While Manifest isn't a Netflix original series, it's on the streaming service as of pretty recently.

There are two main reasons why people are loving Manifest so much right now: the show was added to Netflix, which gave TV fans a chance to catch up and binge-watch, and it was just canceled after its third season.

Manifest has been number one on Netflix and, according to Forbes, fans of the show have been wishing and hoping that it will get a season 4. Netflix said that they wouldn't be producing another season.

There is a hashtag #SaveManifest on Twitter, and many fans have tweeted about their love for the series and how they really want more episodes.

One fan tweeted, I cannot believe it! For almost an entire month, #Manifest has been in the top 10 on @netflix, and still, NO ONE IS COMING TO SAVE IT?! HOW IN THE WORLD DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?! HOW DOES NO ONE, EVEN NETFLIX, WANT TO #SaveManifest?! HOW?! COME ON NETWORKS, OPEN YOUR EYES!"

It's definitely hard to hear that a favorite show has gotten canceled before a real series finale can air, and there's also a petition on Change.org with 43,000 signatures so far. It seems like every day, there are more and more people talking about why they adore the show and why it needs another season. While NBC canceled Manifest, it's also on the Peacock streaming service.

An Ending?

The creator of Manifest Jeff Rake has shared that he's determined to create an ending. According to Entertainment Weekly, he tweeted that he knows that viewers need to know how the story wraps up: "Could take a week, a month a year. But we're not giving up. You deserve an end to the story. Keep the conversation alive. If it works out, it's because of YOU."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the creator talked about hearing about the show's cancellation while it was doing so well on Netflix. He said, "How strange for a show to seemingly be at the end of its rope and then suddenly it's the No. 1 series on Netflix for, I think it's 20 days in a row. I was well on my way through the stages of grief to process the premature ending of the story. Now I am basking in the rebirth of the show."

Rake said that he knows that "hard decisions have to be made" but it's definitely hard for the cast and crew to see their show cancelled. He also talked about making sure that the show gets a proper ending.

Making 'Manifest'

Jeff Rake told Collider.com that he had figured out six seasons of Manifest. He talked about having eight writers on the show and that working together meant they could "fill in all the gaps in between."

Of the tone of the show, Rake said, "It’ll be a slow burn. Every episode will be a pretty even balance between relationship drama moving the ball forward in the key relationships that we’re tracking in the episode, and pushing along mythology while also carrying a close-ended procedural story of the week."

Fans are drawn to the main mystery and the characters, and as Melissa Roxburgh told Showbiz Junkees in an interview, she said that she likes her character, Michaela Stone, because "she's a tragic character but she’s also really strong." She shared that while she has never watched Lost, she has heard people compare the two shows, and she said that Manifest does stand out in its own way.
