When it comes to the acting, music, and sports industries, most people seem to have a very good understanding of how they work. On the other end of the spectrum, there are loads of people that have very little idea of how the modeling business works and how someone rises to the top of it.

At any given time, there are only a handful of human beings that could accurately be called a supermodel. Given how famous Miranda Kerr is and the fact that she is said to be worth $60 million, it is abundantly clear that she deserves to be included on that list these days.

Of course, just because a person’s career is supremely successful in general, doesn’t mean that everything is going perfectly in that regard. For example, Miranda Kerr has to be very satisfied with her career but many people have taken note of the fact that she hasn’t worked with Victoria’s Secret for many years at this point. Unsurprisingly, there has been a lot of discussion about why Victoria’s Secret and Kerr no longer work together.

An Incredible Career

Even from a very early age, Miranda Kerr had her eye on the modeling industry as she entered and won the 1997 annual Dolly magazine/Impulse model competition when she was 13-years-old. Flown to Sydney to shoot pictures for that magazine, it was only the start of Kerr’s ascent to superstardom.

As an adult, Miranda Kerr has graced the covers of major magazines over and over again. Arguably, more importantly, she has worked with many brands including H&M, PINK, XOXO, Clinique, Wonderbra, and Reebok among others. Kerr has also walked for some of the most beloved designers including Dior, Lanvin, Chanel, John Galliano, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, and Loewe.

Miranda’s Version Of Events

Due to the fact that Miranda Kerr is among the most famous, popular, and successful models of her generation, she has been in very high demand for many years. Despite how busy Kerr has remained, it is remarkable that since the year 2012 she hasn’t worked with one of the most powerful companies in the modeling business, Victoria’s Secret.

When Kerr didn’t walk the runway for Victoria’s Secret in 2013, it left virtually everyone scratching their heads since it seemed so surprising. After all, if you look at the list of the top models in the business today, it seems like pretty much all of them aside from Miranda Kerr work for the company. For example, if you look at behind-the-scenes photos of any Victoria’s Secret show, they are bound to be star-studded.

Asked to comment on why she wasn’t walking for Victoria’s Secret in 2013, Miranda Kerr blamed her busy schedule. "They asked me to walk in the show, and I really wanted to, but I have to be in Asia that week," said Kerr, "When I spoke to Ed [Razek, President and Chief Marketing Officer of Victoria's Secret] he was like 'I'm really upset that you can't be here!' but I've got another contract and commitment at the same time." Around the same time, Ed Razek also made public statements that company had “no plans to stop working with Kerr”.

A Different Take

In the years since 2013, many people have come to question Miranda Kerr’s version of why she stopped working with Victoria’s Secret since she has never been welcomed back into the fold. In fact, when it was rumored that Kerr was going to work for Victoria’s Secret again in 2015, the company made the surprising decision to squash that idea publically.

“The recent reports regarding Victoria's Secret and Miranda Kerr signing a new contract are completely untrue, and we have no idea how they got reported. Victoria's Secret appreciates all that Miranda has done with the brand, and all the amazing things she continues to do with her own projects, but there are no plans, on the part of either party, to renew."

In that statement, Victoria’s Secret kept things classy. However, it struck many people as surprising that they went out of their way to reveal that they weren’t interested in renewing a contract with Miranda Kerr. More than that, according to a US Weekly report, Victoria’s Secret actually fired Kerr in 2013 because she “has a difficult reputation”. There is no way for the masses to know for sure if that report is accurate but a lot of people certainly believe it. It should be noted, when it comes to Miranda Kerr’s private life, she seems like an easy-going person, especially since she gets along with her ex-husband’s fiancé, Katy Perry.
