Michael Jordan wouldn't have won six NBA championships without having some kind of help. The most memorable key players to the Bulls' success was Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman.

Since Michael Jordan is considered the greatest basketball player of all time, he usually receives a lot more money than his teammates; both on and off the court. Scottie Pippen, who Michael Jordan considers being his best teammate, took a very long time in his career to receive some financial respect from the NBA franchise.

When Scottie Pippen played for the Bulls, his contract was the sixth highest-paid on his team, and 124th in the entire NBA. For a player with that kind of talent and value to a team, his contract was flat out disrespectful to his work.

Dennis Rodman is considered to be one of the best role players to ever play the game; rebounding and defense. His endeavors both on and off the court affected his financial status.

10 Pippen - The Jet

It's rare for someone to be able to purchase a private jet, without it being inspected. That was the case for Scottie Pippen. Pippen purchased a $4 million jet that didn't even work. Pippen had to pay an extra $1 million to fix the 25-year-old gulf stream jet. For someone who's in the NBA, that may seem like chump change, but at the time, Pippen was highly underpaid by the NBA.

9 Rodman - Child Support

Due to the time that Rodman spent off the court, he definitely engaged in a few sexual encounters. With those encounters and marriages, comes child and spousal support. Rodman, financially, could not maintain the nightlife and home-life responsibilities that he put amongst himself. With that being said, Rodman accumulated over $860,000 in child and spousal support that he could not afford.

8 Pippen - Suing The News

In a world of over 7 billion people, it's possible for someone else to have the same first and last name as you. That happened with Scottie Pippen. A Scottie Pippen, who never played in the NBA, filed for bankruptcy back in the mid-2000s. The media thought that it was Pippen from the legendary Bulls organization that filed for bankruptcy, but that wasn't the case. Therefore, Pippen sued several news outlets for $1 million for tarnishing his name, but he lost the fight.

Peggy would have Rodman take on gigs such as deejaying in St. Tropez or signing autographs and could make over five to six figures. However, several financial red flags started piling up. Millions of dollars in life insurance policies and Peggy taking control of his bank accounts, Rodman was doomed for failure.

6 Pippen - Suing His Firm

Pippen believes that his irresponsible and lackluster financial decisions are not entirely his fault. Pippen is seeking $8 million from Pederson & Houpt and $1.5 million from Robert Lunn, his bankrupt advisor. Pippen is also suing his accountant as well for failing to assist him better in his financial encounters.

5 Rodman - Referees

Rodman played with a lot of heart in the game of basketball. From winning two NBA championships with the Detroit 'Bad Boys' Pistons to obtaining three rings with the Chicago Bulls, Rodman brought value to the game of basketball that didn't include scoring all the points. But his aggression and tantrums cost Rodman a lot of money. He was fined $200,000 for kicking a cameraman. Another time, Rodman was fined $20,000 for fighting with a referee. With these actions, Rodman faced several more suspensions and fines that would eventually cost Rodman up to $1.5 million.

4 Pippen- Real Estate

Aside from Jordan, Pippen acquired a lot of notoriety in Chicago while playing for the Bulls. Along with that notoriety and wealth, comes investments and payments. Pippen spent $3.25 million on real estate investments in the South Side of Chicago; however, those investments failed, costing the superstar a lot of money.

3 Rodman - Leaving The NBA

On several occasions, Rodman left his NBA obligations for personal matters. In 1992, Rodman skipped out on preseason camp, which in the end resulted in a $20,000 fine. During the 1998 finals, Rodman left the team for a celebrity appearance. He went to go wrestle Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania, which resulted in him getting fined $20,000.

2 Rodman- Facing The Police

With Rodman having an exotic night lifestyle, it's not a surprise that he had a few run-ins with law enforcement. Rodman was charged with a DUI, and faced a $2,000 fine, but for an NBA that may seem like nothing. However, for a guy like Rodman consistently in debt, that extra $2,000 could have helped with a few other debts. He was arrested for a domestic disturbance call, however, the fine for the arrest, was not released to the public.
