Hailey Bieber has been under scrutiny on social media and has had her fair share of haters, like most celebrities do. She has taken some time to reflect on the struggles that come along with social media exposure, and fans are discovering the toll that this level of scrutiny really takes.

Hailey Bieber shared part of her YouTube video as she appeared on Ask. Dr. Jess to discuss this topic in depth, and one of the first people to respond to her honest portrayal of this struggle was none other than Hilaria Baldwin. Hilaria took a social media hiatus and has returned with her comments completely turned off, after hateful comments were posted on her social media outlets. She can definitely relate to Hailey’s experience, truly making this a bonding family moment for these two celebrity ladies.

Celebrity Status

Having celebrity status is really not everything that it’s cracked up to be. By exposing herself to millions of fans and followers each time she posts to her social media channels, Hailey Bieber has inadvertently become a target of hatred and mean-spirited messaging.

When her posted images and commentary receive such intense scrutiny, and the public is able to respond to her posts negative feedback, it’s not always easy for her to handle.

Hailey described her feelings in an honest manner, and as she opened up within the interview, she revealed; “I think one of the things I struggle with for sure was the comparison aspect of body comparison, looks comparison, behavior comparison. I think when you’re going through a situation where you have so many people hounding you about the same thing over and over and over again it starts to mess with your mind and then you start to question anything. Like is there something that I’m not seeing that they see. Maybe they’re right.”

Put An End To Mean Messages

Unfortunately, social media has become a platform for hateful, spiteful messages and is no longer an innocent forum used in the manner that it should be.

Hilaria knows this all-too well. She was under fire for looking “too fit” after giving birth to her baby, and she was trolled again when her Spanish heritage was in question. At that point, fans began to scrutinize her accent, as well.

Both ladies have reacted well, in spite of the difficult messages they’re receiving from some of their fans. They have now taken the reins on how they handle negative social media commentary.

“It got to such a low point for me that I was like honestly, maybe I’m delusional,” said Baldwin, further demonstrating that something needs to be done to prevent this situation from continuing.
