Amy Schumer is arguably the more famous (and entertaining) half of her marriage to chef Chris Fischer. But with the pandemic-era debut of Chris' home cooking show, fans got a glimpse of the pair's very relatable relationship.

The question is, though, how did the two meet and wind up married with a kid? Amy's personality almost seems larger than life, so finding out how she connected with the lesser-known chef is a point of interest to fans.

Who Is Amy Schumer's Husband Chris Fischer?

Most fans of Amy Schumer already know that her husband is a chef. And if they watched Amy's Netflix special, 'Amy Schumer Growing,' they would also know that Chris is on the autism spectrum.

But there's much more to Amy's husband than a diagnosis or a job title. The now-chef grew up in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, and lived on a farm all his childhood. Plus, he's been cooking his entire life.

Chris is not just some small-town farm kid, though; he later moved to Manhattan to study as a chef. Then, he even traveled to Europe to hone his craft and study with master chefs. Which leaves fans wondering, did he meet Amy on some world tour of hers? Did they connect in Rome, while Fischer was cooking there, or maybe in London?

Not quite.

How Did Amy Schumer Meet Her Husband?

The story goes that Amy Schumer's husband came back from Europe and other travels after developing his culinary chops. Taking a chef gig in Martha's Vineyard was his next step, and the decision to return home led to him meeting his very famous wife.

Sources call their meeting surprisingly normal, noting that they met through a mutual connection and it started out totally casual. For one thing, Chris is Amy's assistant's brother. So when Schumer was traveling to Martha's Vineyard, assistant in tow, it made sense to ask her employee's chef brother to whip up some meals.

In an interview, Amy explained that she was unabashedly awkward and non-flirty with Chris at first. She purposely pushed away any ideas of romance, specifically due to past scary experiences with an ex. But it didn't really work.

Over time, as the two got to know one another, they both felt the same way. And separately, they asked for Molly, Amy's assistant and Chris' sister, to give her stamp of approval. Amy joked that Molly might've been afraid for her job, so she said she was cool with it, and the rest is history.

The pair didn't date for long before hatching a plan to be married. Still, they discussed important things -- like Amy's net worth and the necessary prenup -- like responsible grownups.

Though they didn't wind up having Adele marry them, as planned, their wedding was meaningful and fun and a little bit crazy, just like their relationship.
