After finding out that Gigi Hadid was pregnant and due in September 2020, fans were thrilled for the star and couldn't wait to learn more. Gigi and Zayn Malik had broken up and reunited, and now they're new parents to their baby girl and the photos are so sweet. Hadid's mom, former RHOBH cast member Yolanda Hadid, has shared how happy she is to be a grandma and her words are super moving.

Before falling in love with Zayn, Gigi Hadid dated Joe Jonas (who recently became a father himself). The story of how these two originally met each other is a charming one. Let's take a look.

The Adorable Meeting

Now Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are married and parents to their baby girl, but back in the day, Joe Jonas and Gigi Hadid were in a relationship.

When most 13-year-olds meet their crush, they're at school or maybe they're in the same friend group. Of course, when young teenagers are famous, they're going to meet at a much more fabulous and elegant place, and that's what happened with Joe and Gigi.

The two celebs first met while attending the Grammy Awards. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gigi said, "We met at the Grammys when I was 13 years old. And he asked me to a baseball game, and I said no." She continued, "I was so nervous; I literally didn’t even know what it meant to hang out with a boy. And also, Grammys are on a Sunday, and I didn’t want to tell him that I had school the next day, so I was like, 'No, maybe next time.'"

That is an adorable story, especially when it comes to what Joe Jonas did next: he handed Yolanda Hadid a piece of paper with his phone number on it.

Although Joe Jonas is a famous Jonas Brother and Gigi Hadid is a successful model, it's relatable to hear about how nervous she was when they met. She was just beginning her teenage years and many 13-year-olds aren't sure how to behave in a similar situation (although they might not meet their crush at the Grammys, of course).

The Relationship

Joe Jonas and Gigi Hadid went their separate ways in 2015 and according to Refinery 29, Gigi started seeing Zayn Malik pretty soon after that. Joe wasn't thrilled about that and said, "I think it's interesting that she moved on so quickly. I mean, it was definitely very quick."

It sounds like it took a bit of time before things were "official." In June 2015, Joe Jonas wanted to officially be in a relationship with Gigi Hadid. According to The Washington Post, a source explained, "Nothing is official between Joe and Gigi, but Joe is working overtime to get it done. He is convinced he will be Gigi's boyfriend in no time. She has options, but Joe is putting his best foot forward to make him the only option she is willing to accept."

Gigi and Joe were photographed a lot when they were together. According to Vogue, they went to the famous Fourth of July party that Taylor Swift throws, and they often walked around NYC together looking stylish.

It sounds like the couple got along well with each other's social circles, according to ET Online, and according to People, they looked adorable at Disneyland when they went once in July 2015.

G.I. Joe

Giving a celebrity couple a name has been a big trend for a while. Some of the most famous ones have been Brangelina (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie), Kimye (Kim Kardashian and Kanye West), and Bennifer (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston).

Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas had their own couple name: according to PopSugar, it was "G.I. Joe." Cara Delevingne shared a photo of Gigi and Joe on Instagram and wrote,"Introducing G.I. JOE #GIJOE." After that, the pair went to a restaurant in Los Angeles and Gigi wore a t-shirt with the words "G.I." on it.

Sometimes good things come to an end and that's what happened with this relationship. It seemed like Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas were happy, but by the end of 2015, they were over and Gigi was with Zayn Malik. According to The Sun, Joe Jonas put his heartbreak into music and penned a few tunes about the split, but he said he wouldn't be producing them for any records. Joe said, "Those songs, in particular, didn’t make the album. You might hear them eventually, songs leak all the time, but I think the place I was in my life when I wrote them, I’m not there anymore, so it wouldn’t make sense to release them."
