Though she's not quite as famous as some of her BFFs, Madison Beer makes plenty of headlines on her own. After catching her big break a la (and thanks to) Justin Bieber, Madison took the music world by storm, but the tempest was short-lived.

It didn't take long for Beer to edge out of the spotlight she'd created for herself and head in another direction. Ditching such an amazing opportunity — being signed by Bieber's label, and with his endorsement — seems insane to so many people who wish they could have had the same chance as Madison.

But is Bieber really the key to her success, the big break behind her burgeoning music career, or the reason why she quickly made $3 million without getting a real job?

She claims that fame has made it impossible for her to go out, but critics aren't sure she's quite reached that level of notoriety yet. Either way, Madison is still in the media a lot. Not to mention, her 22 million Instagram followers are always up in the young star's comments.

The thing is, Madison's origin story isn't quite as heartwrenching as Bieber's. If the details on the starlet's Wikipedia page are to be believed, Madison's first brush with celebrity was when she won a competition at age four and appeared on the cover of a magazine.

Her parents, who are now divorced, are a luxury home builder and interior designer, and that same Wikipedia entry claims that Madison's parents "help fund" her music career. Sources suggest Madison's dad, alone, is worth nearly $2 million.

And though Madison's start in the industry seemed like it was just getting started, disagreements with her record label led to them splitting ways in 2016. But as Elite Daily confirmed with Madison, she wasn't in a hurry to replace Island Records.

Though other young folks probably have bills to pay, fans can infer that Madison didn't have to worry about that. If her parents were funding her career, they could probably help her record and produce an album on their own, right?

Well, as Elite Daily noted, Madison's 2019 album, "As She Pleases," came out "without the backing of a major record label." She does have a rep — First Access Entertainment — and is fronted by the same folks as Bebe Rexha, Ashlee Simpson, and Rita Ora.

Still, Madison doesn't exactly have a rags-to-riches story like Bieber, who played his guitar on public streets to get discovered. No, Madison was living a comfortable life, albeit getting razzed by her classmates for her singing dreams. That, and other facts about Madison's life, have really surprised fans.

With her dad's wallet (her Wikipedia page calls the family "wealthy"), it sounds like Madison may not be the self-made social media influence fans seem to believe she is.
