At just 24 years old, Simone Biles has achieved the title of G.O.A.T in the world of gymnastics. She has many firsts to her name, including being the first gymnast to win three consecutive world all-around titles and the first woman to perform the Yurchenko Double Pike. With 32 medals to her name ― 25 from World Championship and 7 from the Olympics ― Biles has also broken the record to become the most decorated gymnast of all time.

The accolades to her name can go on and on, and there is no denying she deserves it all. However, her feats, alongside her whooping $6 million net worth, didn't come falling into her lap without hard work and sacrifice. Biles has an impressive fitness routine that is the foundation of her phenomenal success.

10 A Seven-Hour Training Schedule

Becoming the most decorated gymnast of all time doesn't come without a lot of drudgery and sacrifice. For Biles, that hard work comes in the form of a scheduled seven-hour training daily for six days a week. Yes, you heard right! Biles spends seven hours every day for six days to stay in shape and prepare for whatever competition is ahead. She wakes by 6 am and, by 7 am, begins her regimen. She trains and works out for 3 hours 30 minutes before taking a break. By 2 pm, she returns to the gym and works out until 5:30 pm.

9 An All-Round Diet

It is no news that diet is a significant part of staying fit. However, unlike athletes and celebs who follow a strict diet, Biles has a balanced approach to eating. The 24-year-old doesn't restrict herself from some foods or counts her calories. Instead, she follows her feelings but is intentional about not overeating. For breakfast, her options are usually oatmeal or fruit whenever she doesn't have time to cook. However, when she does, she indulges in protein waffles with chocolate chips. Lunchtime combines protein and healthy carbs, and for dinner, she listens to her cravings. She also snacks on fruits and enjoys a good protein shake in between workouts.

8 Constant Sleep Schedule

Amid the hustle and bustle at the gym, one thing that Biles doesn't joke about is getting enough sleep. The artistic gymnast does well to get at least the recommended eight hours of sleep, and she does this by going to bed early. Biles revealed that she is never up past 10:30 pm, but her ideal time to be in bed is 9: 30 pm.

7 Cross-Training

The gymnast powerhouse is intentional about her training. During her seven-hour routine, she incorporates many strength training, endurance training, circuit training, and of course, gymnastics. However, one particular program that she infuses, especially when training for the Olympics, is cross-training. During an interview with Women's Health, Biles expatiated on the program, saying:

"Last year, we did cross-training. We swam twice a week—almost a mile! I swore I was going to drown, it was so hard, and then we would run. And the year before that, we would bike 10 miles outside once a week. If we didn't bike, we would run a mile before practice, and as soon as we finished the mile, we'd have to go inside and do a beam routine. My legs were absolute jello. But it got easier because the cross-training helped."

6 Music Does The Trick

When watching Biles do her magic on the floor, it's evident that music plays a massive role in how she performs her routine to blow our minds. However, this isn't something that only happens in the arena. Biles incorporates music whenever she is training and listens to Beyoncé, David Guetta, and Megan Thee Stallion. Explaining the importance of music in her routine, Biles said:

"If I don't listen to music, I'll just get in my head, and I'll start to think about my routines and overthink them. I'm a gymnast who kind of needs to be distracted in a way because if I start to overthink, then you can see that in my gymnastics. Music calms me down, whether it's before a competition or in the arena."

5 Mental Health Routines

Judging by what happened at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics when Biles withdrew from the team, we know without a doubt that the Five-time World all-around Champion is a sickler for mental health fitness. She takes it seriously and, when preparing for competitions, undergoes a series of strict mental health rituals to train and take care of her mind. During her Masterclass Session in June, Biles revealed that she goes to therapy one to two weeks before any competition to decompress. Describing therapy as an essential part of her self-care regimen, Biles said:

"I'll go to therapy to decompress, be in a different atmosphere in a safe place, so I can say whatever I want, say how I'm feeling, [and get out] any negativity. And it kind of just calms me."

4 Stretching And Recovery

Stretching is a vital part of Biles's routine and pretty much any athlete's fitness regimen. The Texas native revealed that she stretches every part of her body before practice and especially afterward. Her favorite stretch is splits, as it helps her remain flexible. Biles also takes recovery pretty seriously. She sometimes opts for ice or massage, but her absolute favorite is foam rolling which she occasionally spices up with a vibrating device.

3 Social Media Hiatus

While social media is a powerful tool, it can also be damaging if one isn't careful. Biles is deliberate about not letting the noise of social media distract her days before her competitions. The gymnast shared that her Twitter feed is usually filled with predictions from fans before any match, which puts pressure on her. Hence, she makes sure to stay away from social media right before her game so that her mind is in the right frame.

2 A Balanced Life

With all the success attached to Biles' name, one would assume she spends most of her time training, but that isn't the case. For the renowned athlete, balance is everything, and that means having a life outside of training. Biles loves spending time with her NFL player boyfriend Jonathan Owens, as evident on her Instagram page. She also emphasizes the importance of finding joy outside her sport.

1 Her Dogs Play A Role

Biles is the ultimate dog lover and is a proud mama to two French Bulldogs, Lilo and Rambo, and the furry family members have a role to play in keeping her fit. One fun way Biles likes to stay active is by taking her dogs for a walk and playing around with them. They help keep her on her toes while having a positive impact on her mind.
