Fans have the same question for Dwayne Johnson and Will Smith, two A-list stars that are huge fan favorites. Heck, DJ might be walking in Smith's footsteps with the release of his rap song most recently.

Fans want to know, what's going on between the two and if they'll ever appear in a film together. Luckily, we've got some answers, as we'll explore their current relationship and the chance of a film taking place with the two in the near future.

Smith Felt Envious Of Dwayne

Will Smith might be considered one of the most successful actors of all time when assessing his success on both television and film. In truth, during 'Fresh Prince', even his own co-stars like Karyn Parsons could not have predicted the popularity he would forge on the big-screen.

It all started with 'Men in Black' and soon enough, he was considered among the A-listers in Hollywood. With a net worth of $350 million, he doesn't have to work another day in his life.

However, despite all that success, Will still compares himself to others, let's face it, we all get caught doing that at some point. During his 'Bad Boys 3' press tour, Smith admitted to comparing his career to DJ's.

“I had a brief moment there where I got stuck on The Rock and he’s doing all these billion-dollar movies and I got stuck… and that animal woke up again.”

Smith admitted it is only human nature never to be fully content, no matter how good things get.

“I realized there’s never enough. You’ll never earn enough money if you stick yourself on sex, you’ll never have enough sex. You’ll never have enough of anything in the material world. So, I’m in the mind space now where I’m letting go of that and I just gotta be good with me. I gotta walk around happy and comfortable with myself no matter what anyone else thinks. That’s where I’m at right now, kind of detoxing my addiction to numbers and wins and comparison.”

As it turns out, at the start, things were very different, and in fact, DJ was molding his career around Will's.

DJ Molded His Career Around Smith

At the start, Dwayne Johnson's career wasn't exactly A-list work. He was appearing in films like 'Tooth Fairy' and in truth, his reps were asking him to conform with the Hollywood standards.

DJ tried to fire up his team, stating that he wanted a career like Will Smith, but bigger... At that point, he wasn't established so those in the room looked at The Rock like he had two heads.

''They looked at me like I had three heads—and I’ve got a big-ass head anyway, so you can only imagine,” he laughed. “It wasn’t in a positive way, either. I felt that.”

Due to the lack of belief and vision, DJ fired his team completely and started from scratch, embracing who he truly is. We can clearly say that the move worked, though in truth, as he revealed with Men's Health, it all took shape because of his faith in himself.

“I said, you’re gone—thank you for your efforts, but everyone is gone, clean slate. I’m going to put people around me who are not only hungry to win and hungry to succeed, but more importantly, have the faith and understand the value in possibility.”

Have faith is the true story here.

Both DJ and Smith are enjoying huge success and as it turns out, Smith is interested in a film alongside DJ.

They might be rivals in the business, however, the two have huge mutual respect for one another. DJ admitted that the two worked for the same agency at one point. The star called Smith, ''my boy,'' meaning that a close bond exists between the two.

As for Will, not only is he a fan of DJ's, but answering fan questions alongside GQ, he revealed to be more than open to shoot a film alongside Johnson.

He called DJ "a beast,'' while agreeing that the two are more than due to star in a film together. Without a doubt, that type of project will bring the fans to the theaters.
