Nicole Kidman Is A Legend

During the 1980s, Nicole Kidman entered Hollywood looking to make a name for herself. She was able to lend some decent roles in the 80s, but things changed in a major way in 1990 when she starred opposite Tom Cruise in the head film Days of Thunder. From that point on, the actress was off and running.

Another early hit for Kidman came in the film Far and Away, which once again put her alongside Tom Cruise. The actress would add on movies like Batman Forever, Practical Magic, and Eyes Wide Shut, before the turn of the millennium.

As the years rolled on, Kidman cranked out numerous hit films, earning rave reviews for her acting along the way.

To date, Nicole Kidman has been nominated for five Academy Awards, winning the award for Best Actress for her performance in 2002s The Hours. She has also taken home six Golden Globe Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and even three Critic's Choice Awards. She's done it all, and she's still not finished.

Though she has nothing left to accomplish, the actress continues to add to her legacy. Recent outings in Aquaman are proof that she still knows how to pick a box office winner.

She Starred In 'Moulin Rouge'

In 2001, Baz Luhrmann unleashed Moulin Rouge to the world. The filmmaker brought out the big guns for the movie, including an outstanding cast and a fantastic soundtrack.

The film starred names like Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor, and John Leguizamo, and it remains a beloved movie for many musical fans. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's a wildly entertaining film with lots of memorable scenes.

That Movie Cost Her A Spot In 'Panic Room'

So, how did Nicole Kidman lose the coveted lead role in Panic Room? Unfortunately, the actress sustained an injury while working on Moulin Rouge, opening the door for another actress to take her spot.

According to ScreenRant, Kidman "had to give up the part because of a lingering knee injury that was too painful for such a physically demanding role. According to Kidman, she sustained the injury during the filming of Moulin Rouge! The actress said, "It was, like, 3am, and I was thinking, 'I'm so tired and I probably shouldn't do another one (scene) in these heels, but yeah, OK, one more take, this will be it.'" In the ensuing take, Kidman fell and hurt her knee."

This had to come as a major blow for the star, who not only had to deal with a nasty injury, but who also had to watch as Jodie Foster took her place in Panic Room.

At the box office, Panic Room grossed nearly $200 million, making it a sizable hit for Jodie Foster and a still unknown Kristen Stewart at the time.
