Ellen DeGeneres has really upset fans (well, former fans) lately, but that doesn't mean she'll truly be canceled. After all, 'The Ellen Show' hasn't been taken off the air (yet?), and that means someone higher-up sees the merit in continuing Ellen's run on prime time TV.

Which is good news for the host, who would probably have trouble filing for unemployment.

After all, Ellen's 'The Ellen Show' income likely makes up the bulk of her yearly earnings. Though, no word on what the compensation will be for her raunchy new series "LadyParts." Maybe that's Ellen's next money maker.

Still, Ellen does accept other roles, mostly game show type ones, so fans sorta wonder: isn't she making enough cash on her talk show to get by?

As far as the bottom line, Ellen makes about $84 million per year, says Fox Business. Of course, that includes deals with PetSmart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and other endorsements and product lines. Fans can assume she's also got some sponsored content in the bag, as her social media posts are pretty active...

She also signed a stand-up special deal with Netflix for $20 million in 2018.

But for 'The Ellen Show,' how much is the host's salary? Wikipedia lists her as one the top-earning talk show hosts in history. Forbes says that Ellen gets "eight-figure" checks, which would be at least $10M per month. However, multiple sources claim Ellen takes home about $6M per month.

That's one hefty hourly wage, however the accountants among us slice it. However, none of the speculation has been confirmed. Ellen definitely isn't about to show off her paychecks, because that would probably stall her attempts to get back in the public's good graces.

Ellen is so desperate for a comeback, she tweets like, all the time for attention. Her Instagram has also been blowing up. She still seems to want to be considered "one of us," rather than the high-powered celeb (with high-powered millions behind her) she truly is. At the same time, she's ribbing at her 'friend' Kylie Jenner and other celebs in her posts.

What is the deal there?

Fans of Ellen, and her show, may find her witty and relatable. But after all the rumors and complaints swirling lately, many critics are thinking Ellen's sort of fake after all.

And maybe that's part of why she gets paid so much for 'The Ellen Show.' She's created an entire persona that comes to life on that talk show stage, and keeping it going requires her to put on a facade in her private life, too.
