Hunter Moore Launches His Controversial Website In 2010

There are some people who truly believe that there's some good in every human being. But when it comes to Hunter Moore, that theory is highly debatable. He is undoubtedly a horrible person, but what exactly did he do?

In 2010, he created the would-be nightlife website IsAnyoneUp.com with the intentions of running it like a dating/hook up platform. However, along the way, something changed. In an article posted by The Rolling Stones, he relays how the revenge site started.

Eventually, it became a platform for other users to submit photos and information pertaining to people, all entirely without consent, in a "revenge" tactic. Men and women were posted to the website by anonymous individuals that took pleasure out of humiliating them. When Hunter Moore was contacted and asked to take the photos down, he would typically reply "LOL".

Hunter Moore Took A Plea Deal And Received A Lesser Sentence

After a whole 16 months collecting and posting nude photos and personal information of people from all over the world, Hunter Moore made the mistake of posting a photo of Kayla Laws, daughter of actress and activist Charlotte Laws. Charlotte informed the FBI of the website, and they soon launched an investigation.

What they discovered was that Hunter Moore was paying a hacker to hack into people's computers and steal photos and personal information to use for their website.

When this was discovered, Charlotte Laws soon after began receiving death threats and even had a stalker appear at her house. Almost immediately after this, she was helped by the infamous internet group Anonymous.

They were able to leak Hunter's home address and personal information. Not long after that, the FBI had enough evidence to have Hunter arrested for conspiracy, aggravated identity theft, and unauthorized access to a protected computer.

Unfortunately, Hunter Moore was only sentenced to 2 1/2 years in federal prison and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, along with a restitution fee of $145.70.

Hunter Moore's Net Worth And His Whereabouts Today

At the height of his "career" as a self-proclaimed "professional life ruiner", he boasted an $8,000-$13,000 per month income. However, he was reported to be broke most of the time due to his expensive lifestyle. After all, he did end up selling his website for a mere $12,000 to an anti-bullying campaign. This implies that he was not only desperate to try and get the FBI off of his tail, but also desperate for money.

Overall, it is reported that he's worth around $1 million. As of this writing, his Instagram profile has been inactive since 2014, and he's been permanently banned from Twitter and Facebook multiple times. For the sakes of every decent person left on the internet, let's hope that his online presence remains nonexistent.
