Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney seems to be in some hot water with a swimwear brand for breaching a contract that was made and agreed upon in 2021. She was meant to promote their Somewhere Swimwear line, and was projected to reel in over $3.5 million USD profit for the company. She did not post any promotion for the brand, and now they are legally demanding her to pay the price.

What Is The LA Collective?

The company that is suing Sydney Sweeney for $4.3 million USD is called the LA Collective. The company is an American online clothing store that was founded by CEO Karl Singer and Creative Director Jaynee Silvers in 2016. They were initially called Touché LA, but rebranded as LA Collective in late 2018.

One of their main functions is working with influencers and celebrities to create fashion brands and lines particularly revolving around athletic wear, swimwear and some other streams of trending fashion. Their partnerships with influential figures is a key aspect in their rising popularity over the years.

They've collaborated with a number of well-known celebrities, such as TV star and host Morgan Stewart, in which they together created the athletic wear line, Morgan Stewart Sport.

They've also collaborated with model Alexis Ren, media personality Khloe Kardashian, fashion influencer and actress Olivia Culpo and many more.

Their focus is in creating athleisure clothing, working with celebrities to develop their own lines, and all operations are conducted in one factory in Los Angeles. In 2021, Sydney Sweeney signed a contract agreeing to promote their brand, to which she has failed to do so.

This ordeal was initially reported by TMZ. The legal documents were obtained by Page Six Style, who have released various clauses of the contract. According to PageSix reports, Sydney Sweeney approved the designs created by LA Collective, and canceled with no word.

"Sweeney approved the swim brand’s designs and prototypes, only to “[cancel] the agreement without any explanation or cause". - The PageSix Report.

The reports also state that Sydney Sweeney used the ideas curated by the brand for her own personal use, in which she wore in several episodes of hit HBO show, Euphoria.

(Sydney Sweeney) “appropriated the designs … for her own use” and proceeded to wear them “on at least five episodes” of Euphoria.

The Infamous Pink Swimsuit Cassie Wore In Euphoria

In season 2, episode 4 of Euphoria - titled You Who Cannot See, Think Of Those Who Can - Sydney Sweeney's character, Cassie, attended Maddy's birthday party. To the surprise and attention of Nate and Maddy, Cassie strolled down the stairs with a rather revealing swimsuit, a bottle of alcohol in hand, and a new stream of confidence on display.

This sort of outfit with its cut-outs and straps was rather unexpected of Cassie to wear, but truly reveals the struggles with identity and unrequited love; issues that Cassie was dealing with rather ineffectively, leading to her becoming increasingly unstable. The costume shows that she is willing to change if it means Nate Jacobs will love and choose her.

Fans have made similarities to what she wore as the sort of outfit notorious, confident Maddy would wear. She wore a one piece hot pink swimsuit as she got drunk, danced alone, partied out her sadness and eventually... threw up in the hot tub as a result of pure envy.

That aesthetic swimming costume she wore amassed great attention from viewers. It is called the Gemma Suit, a wrap one piece that is created by the company called Frankie's Bikini's. It costs $180.

Frankie's Bikini's is a beachwear and athleisure brand founded by mother-and-daughter duo, Mimi and Francesa Aiello in 2012, Miami. They have collaborated with household celebrity names such as Gigi Hadid and Sofia Richie.

Within 24 hours of the episodes premiere on HBO, over 500 people ended up on the waitlist to buy the Gemma Suit. Frankie's Bikini's struggled to keep up with that high demand. This also effectively lead to Sydney Sweeney becoming a favorable star to be the face of swimwear brands, seeing as she led to the sales of over 500 swimming suits that she wore in Euphoria - hence the collaboration with LA Collective.

There was miscommunication that Sydney Sweeney was being sued by Frankie's Bikini's, which they quickly shut down over an instagram comment.

Sydney Sweeney and her team are yet to comment on the whole ordeal.
