Russell Brand is an open-book when it comes to his life. He appeared alongside Howard Stern a few times. In one particular interview, he made the headlines for opening up about his divorce alongside ex-Katy Perry.

"I loved her so much, it just seemed like the sensible thing to do [when we got married] ... I just loved her so much. We realized this isn't really working out, it's a difficult situation... I was really, really in love with her, but it was difficult to see each other... We were together when it was right to be together, and when it wasn't we worked it out... It was a lovely relationship... it mostly didn't work for practical reasons... We did work it out, she's happy, I'm happy."

His first appearance on the show back in 2009 went a little deeper, exploring his troubled childhood. It seems like Howard was looking to troll Brand's past ways, but the guest handled it all in the best way possible.

Howard Stern Brought Up Russell Brand's Tough Childhood But The Comedian Had Fun With It

Howard Stern as he typically does, wasted no time asking Brand some hard hitting questions. Stern opens up by saying, "You had a tough childhood, your mom was sick your entire childhood, three bouts with cancer, you were mol***** as a kid." Brand talked his way out of it swiftly stating, "In the end I laughed my way out of it."

Stern would stay on the matter, saying "but you don't find it funny," trying to keep things in a serious tone. Brand would then reveal that he laughed off the tough times, or else things would only spiral and get worse for him.

Russell would downplay the situation throughout the interview - though Stern was relentless, bringing up a story about Brand sleeping with a 61-year-old, and losing his virginity thanks to his dad. Despite all the curveballs thrown by Stern, only Brand can manage to keep the interview fun and loose with his responses, obviously never taking himself too seriously.
