Just weeks after announcing her upcoming hiatus from the music industry, Iggy is back and teasing her next album. Is that weird for someone who said she's quitting music? Kind of.

Iggy's idea is that she's going to leave the scene and have more time with her new baby son AFTER dropping tracks that she's had on the back burner for a while now. They're coming next month (unless she pulls a Kanye and keeps fans waiting) - and now there's cover art to set the tone:

She Just Dropped Her 3rd Studio Album Cover

That tone looks DARK, if the cover is anything to go by! It features Iggy herself reclining on a pool chair (that's floating in the middle of a pool) and the bodies of seven men in suits bobbing around her. The men look like they're meant to be dead, and Iggy's general expression suggests that she's the reason why.

The cover also has stacks of money floating around the pool, purple and blue neon lights, and statues holding up a globe that reads 'THE END OF AN ERA.' Oof.

Fans Thought It Was 'Gatsby' Inspired

To some fans, Iggy's cover setup looked pretty familiar. They guessed that it was based on one of the final scenes in 2013's 'The Great Gatsby,' where Leonardo DiCaprio (as Gatsby) is found dead in his own super luxurious outdoor pool.

In a Tweet to one curious fan, Iggy hinted that Gatsby's aesthetic had some influence on her album art choice. With a response of "Also... it may surprise you BUT!... Hear me out...", she seemed to acknowledge that while Leo's film DID lend some ideas to her cover, there's more to it than that.

It's Actually Inspired by 'Scarface'

Yep, Iggy's fave film 'Scarface' is what she was going for with 'The End of An Era's aesthetics.

Carrying on a kind of personal narrative from her last album to this one, Iggy explained that the theme of getting revenge after looking beaten up was inspired by the cash-heavy and violent journey Al Pacino takes in that iconic 80s movie.

"I wanted to reference Scarface because it’s something I did during my ‘hotel iggy tour,’" she Tweeted to a fan asking where her inspiration came from. "We thought it would be cool to get some revenge after being beaten & bloody on the last cover! Lol."

Fans Are Loving It

Despite all her recent Blackfishing controversies, Iggy's still got a strong fanbase that LOVES the concept of her new album.

"It's the little details like this that make this great," one fan replied to Iggy's explanation on Twitter.

"Nobody's doing it like iggy iggz!" another fan wrote, with a third adding, "And the album is not even out...I can't."
